I thought Coroplast dividers inside of some sort of padded envelope would be tough and could be cleaned easily. Disposable, yes, but they’re available for free at most street corners during election season.
Did this last month on a 5 day trip in Glacier National Park with my daughter... worked perfectly and I tossed them when I got home. Home run suggestion.

Montana high country... yes please!

Got a new arb deluxe from Stephen for the front. I’ve wanted the hoops for animal strikes, I’m going to put in for the body work on the drivers side and see if they total the cruiser. Either way I’m going for version 3.0 on this one. Just got back from a 1,500 mile trip with my oldest son and it didn’t skip a beat. Love this old 100.

I’ll be selling the old one Darren.

I’m going much more simple for water. But fancier on my propane setup

Love to see your detail on the water setup.

I am going with the new Dometic Setup. It has a magnetic faucet and a convient jug... my system froze up the past 3 winters in a row as I didn't create a good enough drain/air out system and I had failures every spring when I went to reboot the water system. I am going to dumb it down a little bit and go for a less integrated version. I have a few friends running it @MTsoul and others who are really happy with the system. Dometic had a huge 4th of July sale so I jumped.

If you bought the Dometic water jugs, go check out the Bell Fabrication mounts designed for them. They're REALLY nice!
Those are very nice! But too rich for my blood for a mount. I am going to utilize Logistic track and a Roller cam.

I added a dab of blue Locktite to the A-Pillar bracket for good measure as they have no lock nuts or other means to keeping them in.

The snorkel mounts up VERY solidly, I can shake the whole 100 by the snorkel and there is no movement. I also liked that the hose clamp for the snorkel head was colored black to match, even my Safari snorkel didn't mind that detail.

Looks good if you ask me...

Done, now to order some parts for the CV boot and the other things that need repairing. But I had to get a fun mod done that actually had something to show for it! :bounce:

Please send me the eBay link for this snorkel please. I love it and I can’t find this exact one. I ordered one that says it’s for my 100 series LC but it’s more for like a 79 series

I bought it like 10 years ago, sorry don't have any idea who it was.

Been doing some spring cleaning as I get ready for this wheeling season here in Montana. We have had a light winter and it seems like we might get a longer wheeling season!

I thought since I pulled EVERYTHING out of the cruiser for inspection, cleaning, refilling (and deciding if it should stay) I'd snap a few pics and include what I carry around.

Here is the main enchilada... lots of gear, mostly swallowed up in the main drawer system.

Most things are in one of main three bags... with lots of stuff that does have a home. Let me zoom in a bit then I'll break things down.
IMG_2860.webp

All this stuff lives in rear storage cubby behind the seat or along side of the drawers.

My main three bags, fluids/spares, recovery and Tools.

Gear I use often or need to be handy.

I built this years ago. It hold a lot of soft goods, blankets, jackets, recovery strap, paper towels a shooting pad/work tarp, a rain tarp some bungee's, my bino harness and spotting scope.
IMG_2864.webp

I keep a lot of stuff in this cubby. A blanket, some spare propane 1# bottles, my tire fix kit, some fire kit stuff etc.
IMG_2867.webp

My spare carries a fire extinguisher and my trauma FAK in a pelican box. I usually have a 60" Hilift on there but I am killing the rust, repainting and rebuilding it at the moment.

Here is what is in each bag... first, spares and fluids.
IMG_2869.webp

I keep and store:
  • A bunch of chemical fix stuff like epoxy, RTV silicone, JB weld
  • Zip ties
  • Bailing wire
  • Spare band clamps
  • safety glasses
  • Spare wire
  • Section of heavy duty rubber
  • A spare serpentine belt
  • Random Hose for fluid transfer
  • Gas spout for jerry can (I rarely run a can).
  • A spare u joint OEM
  • Bag of nuts and bolts
  • Spare fuses
  • Spare lugnuts and wheel studs
  • Battery terminal
  • I am sure there is more.

My recovery bag... this usually rides in the truck 24/7. When I hit the dirt I move it to behind the drivers seat for easy access off road.
IMG_2870.webp

In this bag I carry:
  • Collapsible snow shovel
  • Winch sheath
  • leather gloves
  • tree saver
  • bridle
  • shackles
  • snatch block
  • hitch block
  • a high viz vest
  • I added some signal flares and my main recovery strap.

Tools... gotta' have enough to get home. Nothing more. One thing I practice is doing maintenance and common trail "repair" type work from the tools in the truck. Things like front axles, replace a wheel stud, u-joints stuff like that.
IMG_2872.webp

Most of the tools live in a tool roll but I also carry:
  • Small socket set (another full metric set when intentionally out on a multi day trip).
  • C clamp
  • Signal flares and one arial flare
  • Rag
  • Test light
  • Ball Peen Hammer
  • Hub socket for each rig.
  • Para cord
  • Pickle fork
  • Pry bar
  • Trash compactor bags
  • 1" webbing 10' or so
  • Teflon Tape
  • Wire
  • Bit set

My miscellaneous bag that rides in the cubby behind the rear seats in the drawer system. More "daily" use items...
IMG_2873.webp

  • Good leather gloves (insulated)
  • Solar Lucy lights
  • Door step thingy
  • Butane Snow Peak torch for fires
  • Dometic facuet
  • Spare batteries for radio's
  • Bug net for my head
  • one of those she-pee things for the ladies in my world.
  • A few other random things
