It worked for me doing it this way:

Click the Link: http://goo.gl/maps/fOhRT
Sign in with account
Click "Save to my places" top left
Click Get Directions
Box A: Your Hometown (Not your address)
Box B: "Ouray, CO"
Scroll to the bottom of the directions and click "Save to My Maps"
Save to "100s in the Hills Routes 2013"
Click "Save"

Added an obvious one, just to help ;p

Ok, got it this time. I didnt add what we are doing after, but it will be Moab/Canyonlands, Zion, Grand Canyon, then bomb back home.

I was on hiatus for a while, but I am back... :steer:

So, how does one set up a public map like that?

Hey Moody and everyone else,

I am going to be in Grand Junction the previous weekend for my kids State Swim meet and then exploring/fishing at some other locations Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday prior to our meet up on Thursday. My plan is to be at the campsite mid day and get set up then.

Brad

As it gets a little closer, lets exchange P's with our cell numbers and such and I will meet up with you on Thursday. I'll probably take the long way to CO and spend a couple nights elsewhere before hitting Ouray.

Tried to do this a few times on my iphone and nothing!
Now that I got on the computer it worked just fine!
I wonder if those having problems earlier were also trying with cell phones!:bang:

Just added our route out there. Had to go to computer as well, Google's mobile site for maps didn't have the necessary options to complete the steps.

I won't go into too much detail because Google Maps in in the process of a major revamp. The Beta is very promising! In the old version just make sure you are logged in > My Places > Create Map > Give it a name and description and make it public or unlisted. > Send people the link. > Click Collaborate > Click Allow anyone to edit this map" or send email to just specific people. > Click OK. Copy the link from the link tab at the top and share.

Here is the Mud Member Map as another example for people who don't venture into Chat. I recommend everyone add themselves to it. This can be a great resource while traveling especially if something goes wrong. Again, it's not recommended to place your pin at your actual residence. Put it at that other guy's instead.

Thanks for all your input guys, I finally had some time to update the list, thanks for those who gave me a PM commitment and their contact info. I've updated Post #2 with green text for those who sent me the commitment and contact info that was requested in Post #238. If you are still looking at logistics it's NO HURRY to get the PM to me. I would rather you be sure. I'd like to have final commitments by July 5 so I can get shirts to the printer. If you sen't me a PM and your name is not green please send me a reminder. I'm pretty inundated with them and trying to keep everything separated.

If you would like to prepay for your shirts you may by sending PayPal for the amount to jonharis at hotmail. If you don't mind, add a couple bucks to cover the PayPal fee as we are selling these at or near cost. Otherwise, cash or check is fine at the event. If you can't make the event and still would like to buy a shirt please let me know via PM! We are happy to print some extras!

Can't you just send the Paypal as a gift which then avoids any fees from being charged?

PayPal catches on pretty quick. That said, pay however you want. I'm not the PayPal police.
