3FE swap from FJ80 to FJ62?

Has anyone swapped a 3FE from a 91/92 80 series into an 88-90 62?

Are there any major differences? Would i need the harness etc from the 92 or would the one from the 88 work?

There is a difference in the crank. Not a big deal, you'll need the torque converter from the FJ80 I think.

The hole that is machined into the end of the crank is a different diameter. I don't recall if it is bigger or smaller though. Otherwise it is a direct swap.

The ECU's are different from an FJ62 and an FJ80. Ask me how I know.

But he shouldn't need to change that. It sounds to me like he wants to put a newer lower mileage long block into his FJ62.

I know that he probably won't have to but I put it in there just in case. The FJ80 ECU's have different pin connectors than the FJ62. i bought a spare and it ended up being an 80 and I had to resell it to a fellow mudder.

That's pretty much the plan. I'm trying to see the feasibility of it as i have access to an '88 with a seized engine and a '92 3FE at good prices.
