Yeah, exactly. I think some FJ62s had the 3F, though. There's (what looks like) a dead FJ62 on the edge of town and I wanted to do some research before I ask the owner if I can grab some parts off it.Are you comparing engines between US market FJ 62 and FJ 80? If so, they are all 3FEs. IIRC there are a few small parts that changed over those years, but not much?
Yeah, I was just reading that. It looks like the 3F engine didn't even make it into the American market until 1988- so it looks like all FJ60s have 2Fs and all FJ62s have 3FEs. I guess I should be looking into 2F/3FE compatibility.FJ60 has the 2F.
There are a lot of similarities in the block and head. You can take a 3FE head and put it on a 2F block and have a 2FE which is a longer stroke version of the 3FE. There are others but that gives you something to look at. Is there something specific you are looking for?
