I don't have a 3b, but installed an Isuzu 4BD2 in my 60. In regards to using the Ford V6 engine mounts with a diesel, most designers of items like this are trying to deal with a engine weight and vibration range that is somewhat narrow.

Does a 3b weight about the same as the V6? The Isuzu 4BD2 weigh's about 50 pounds more than the 2f with 2 fewer cylinders.
Most gas engines weight substantially less than diesels.

The vibration will be different, with the diesel shacking a lot more. Torque loads may be about the same overall, but I'm not sure of that.

I would think finding a diesel motor mount would be the best plan.

Sounds like your saying that engine mounts are designed around the harmonics of the engine. And I would agree, use the isolator that was made for the motor, but, this isolator was used on ford V6's and has had good feedback from the cummins crowd. I would guess the 3B to be a little lighter then the isuzu, although diesel engines usually weigh more, I find the 3B to be not too heavy, Ill have to look up the numbers but I suspect its lighter then a 2F. I bet ya the bare block without crank accesories or head would be around 200-250 lbs.

Not that this is an ideal method of identifying proper mounts, but applying force to both my old 3B mount and the anchor mount I can see the anchor is softer. I will use it and report back as to how it feels.

I ordered the mounts last Tuesday night, and DHL delivered them 9 am Monday morning! There was a $15 brokerage fee, so total cost for 2 motor mounts $80. $20 shipping + $15 brokerage = $115 for both.
These were ordered from www.onlineautoparts.com.au
They can also be found through Ebay. FYI - I used VISA, not PayPal.
I also phoned before I ordered using Skype on the contact page

They are certainly different to the eye, but are a perfect fit. There is a distinct engine side, and mount side.

For my install I cut the factory frame mounts off the BJ74 and will use them on the FJ40 frame. Using an angle finder, the frame angle rise on both vehicles is 11 deg, only 1/2" difference in frame separation, so adapting will be fairly straightforward.
I hope this helps any others with the 13BT in BJ74's.

How did the after market mounts fit? My originals are gone and all I can get are the after markets which look way taller and not as good as the originals.

i ordered 2 mounts from Australia(perfect 4 day fast service !! and reasanable price) after ordering 2 wrong ones (the old type) from another shop.

anybody know how many nm to torq them ? (cant find it in any manual)

The hydrolic mount idea is for later when i have welding skills myself (project is already more then expensive enough)

If it's not too late I just purchased a pair of motor mounts from 4Wheelauto in edmonton.
part #12361-56031 Both are stamped 'R' but match what came off the 1983 Bj42 with 3b.
New mounts are installed nuts and washers are removed from the transfer case mount and the fan blade is still to close to the drivers side battery tray for some reason. Fan shroud will not fit.
I'm wondering if this is normal when changing mounts.Thinking i will run the truck and hope it re-alligns itself better then tighten everything up.
Cheers

Has it been figured out if the 1990 Ford V6 Mounts work better... do they need to be modified
Are the eBay oem style mounts from Australia the best route?
Hoping that more has been figured out since 2013.

I have a 1987 BJ74 13BT

Thanks
