They were 256/tire mounted and balanced

If you had a fifth one, will it fit underneath the truck in the stock area? What will you do for a spare if you can't fit one underneath. I wouldn't think running a stock size spare against those would be a good idea...and adding a rear tire mount can get pretty expenive.

Slee makes ( I intended to custom fab) a bar that attaches to the rear "oh sh!t" grab handle and bolts to the floor which operates as an internal tire carrier so you can securely keep the tire in the back of the truck. Much less cost than a swing out style bumper if you can stand losing the room in the back.

I really like those tires...

I am going with the same size, but I'm hung up between these and the Nitto Terragrapplers with the Wildcard being the Kumho Road Venture MT's (have read some not so good things about the Kumho's though...)
Wish I could afford the MT-Rs with Kevlar but at basically 3 bills per corner...I don't think thats gonna happen.

Tire Rack has the Duratrac listed at $216

...if my experience with Goodyear's Wrangler SilentArmor tire is any indicator, the Duratrac should be an absolute winner for on-road manners and ice/snow (again probably road-biased here). I have heard too much back and forth from folks about Nitto tires. I don't think they're as good of an all-around tire as Goodyear's offerings in the Silent Armor and hence the Duratrac.

I'll probably go Duratrac the next time it's new rubber time.

I've also heard a few negatives about the nitto, my girlfriend has a set on her jeep and she doesnt like them and from the few times i've driven them in the snow i dont like them all that much either. I know they have a good following on mud though.

I got the dunlop rover mt (not the mud rover) and i've had a great experience with them. Its supposed to be a very similar tire to the duratrac from what i understand. (goodyear also makes dunlops).

I live about 15 minutes from Interco, and they have a 34/9.5/16 tire (I think it's designated a SAM21) that I plan on using for a spare. Someone else here on Mud uses it, and it fits in the stock location. Last time I called they were out of them though...

More importantly where did you find a set? Every website and dealer I stop by says they are out of stock and have no idea when the can get more in. Even ebay only had 1...couldn't even get a set of 4 from the seller.

I checked with a Goodyear Gemini service center a couple of weeks ago, after Al said my tires were too small and they were able to get them out of their warehouse in Columbia, SC.

I ordered mine through 4wheelparts and they went through fine then they emailed me saying they were back ordered and coming throught the factory so i got them bout month and half later.

Is there a load range (D, E etc) printed on these tires?

They are load range E.

I got them from Allied Tire in Lafayette, LA. I ordered them on a Friday, they told me it would be the next Thursday before they would have them, then called Monday and said they would have them the next day (Tuesday). This was after the local Goodyear dealer told me there were none available in the state and it would be 2-3 weeks before he could get them.

That thing looks amazing!!! Nice job.

Any update on how bad they rub... I have my 315 mtrs sittin here that i want to put on so i can take it to the beach... Just want to know how bad its r ubbing.

I have a lift on now, but ran them for a month on the stock suspension. They were fine around town, but I wouldn't attempt to go offroad like that.

I think 315s look really strange without lift anyways! What lift you go with? I really like the duratracs so far!

The :princess: took the LX to the tire shop this morning and sent these after pics :)

Looks like it will be ok on the road!

Just need someone to buy the 40 so I can finish this one up and make a couple of rides this year. Pretty sure my schedule is open for the SCC.

I think I may just go with a 2.5" OME Heavy lift ~ $875 or so. I guess I would have to lower the bumpstops, and it wouldn't flex as well as a 4" from Slee or FOR, but at 1/3 the price it looks good to me.

Did you happen to measure the tyres to see if they are a true 35 inch?

According to the specs, they measure 34.6", which is as close to their measurement as any other tire I have ever seen. Very, very, very few tires match their sidewall label. All of my other 35's have measured around that.
