I have a 1974 FJ40 (June production, 4 speed transmission) and bought a diaphragm clutch kit to upgrade from the 3-prong that was in it. As you all probably already know, the throwout bearing (and consequently the clutch hub & fork) is larger than the one for the 3-prong pressure plate. I want to upgrade to the diaphragm clutch and it seems that I can just buy the correct clutch hub, clips, fork & fork ball for the diaphragm clutch to make it work.

Am I correct and if not, what would I need to upgrade to the diaphragm clutch?

Thanks!

You are correct, you will need to change the fork, hub, and pivot ball. You will also need the proper hub clips. In addition to all that you will also need the later flywheel.

I sell the fork, hub, return spring, clips, and boot in a handy kit - I don't include the pivot ball but I have those in stock as well and can throw one in for you on the house :)
