I think this will keep me busy through the winter.......still have a little ways to go ;)

I got a bet with Coberly.....might set up a side bet thread with over/under and side pots......:D :D :D

I'm going to have to agree with everyone one else here.

You will need another project for this winter at this rate.

awsome, is that a red LCD clock on the dash?

Yes it is.....actually suprised your the first guy to bring that up.

I was going to weld the hole up, but it just screamed 1970's and it still worked...so I thought I would leave it. I think it looks kinda cool ;p

OSB 4x9

I actually used 4' x 9' sheets of OSB, smooth side towards the inside of the paint booth. 3 coats of ACE highgloss porch and floor enamel later, it looked pretty nice.....and it was cheap. 4 x 9 x 7/16 sheets of OSB at the time were around $7 to $8 bucks, it was cheap.

Filters were just the cheapy 99cents filters at Ace, nothing special. I actually wanted the cheapest ones possible so they would catch the least amount of overspray. Even with the cheap ones they catch to much, plug up.....decided to paint the grass and trees outside. ;)

Matt

Thanks for the tip. I did not know that OSB was available in 9' sheets. I did not even think about OSB since I have never used it before. But for a paint booth it sounds great. I think I am going to have a problem tho with the exhaust thing as I can not just send the OS out into the parking lot or I will have a lot of pissed people including my own cars.

About 8 hours on the lpb today, didn't try to hard.

Started off with a little sandblasting, since I was going to spray black I wanted a few more parts. Blasted the coolant/windshield bottle holder, rusted pretty good. I had to cut out and weld a couple piece's in. After that, hung a few things up and sprayed some DP and single stage.

After that, just started cleaning parts and installing. Cleaned the brake and clutch lines with solevent and wire brush. I was going to blast them, but they still had all the cad plating and weren't rusted so decided to clean them. That actually took over an hour scrubbing each line. Wire brushed the speedo cable and a few other things. Got the brake lines and speedo installed. Ran a 1 1/4" strip of closed cell foam around the tranny hump and got that bolted down to the floor.

Cleaned more parts.....fan that goes on the firewall, speedo head, glove box door, door limitter's, brackets on the firewall....and other parts I can't remember now??? Cleaned and installed all of those parts and more....took a few glamour pics.

Got the wife involved a bit today. Went and got our rental upholstry cleaner from the store and 6 in 1 concentrate cleaner. She went over the seats 4 times, lots of dirt and grime came out. She cleaned all the brackets and seat frames and then armor-all'd them....they look nice now. Also the floor mat, used the upholstry cleaner to spray it down, then scrubbed it and sucked up the crap. Did that about 3 times and wiped it down. Hopefully get some of this chub installed in the next few days.

Still hoping for ignition this week ;)

Matt-

Are you building new brake lines, or are you able to use the original ones? I'm trying to get everything routed and plumbed so I can call the chassis done! The stuff I've got is pretty well used up....1966 vintage. Any suggestions??

I'm sure Matt is reusing them on this build, your era has the old single stage system which should be upgraded if ya' plan on driving it IMHO.

He did this on his LV build.

i made new brake lines, but reused the original fittings.

Got about 2.5 on the lpb tonight, nothing spectacular but moving forward.

Cleaned up the seat belts, not perfect but I think they look pretty good for 30 year old belts. Got my column cleaned up and installed...along with that little electronic box next to the column. Mounted up the belts along with the jack holder band and the little bracket that goes underneath the seat.

Thought I would toss in a seat tonight. I planned on getting that tank installed, but the seat seamed like it would be more fun. Hoping to get the tank and fuel lines installed tomorrow, also would like to get the shifter in and bleed out the clutch lines.

Might try to pop it off by thanksgiving again. Maybe no coolant in it at that point, but just start it for about 30 seconds to get some oil moving through the motor again........

I'll be using most of the original ones on this 78 lpb, they were all in really good condition. I do have to make a couple. The long one from the front to the back, it was kinda destroyed when dis-assembly happened. Also have a cracked one up front, I thin it got hooked with chain or something? No big deal, take an hour or so to make new ones. I have brake line laying around and I will just re-use the fittings.

Butch is right, I did make all new S.S. lines on the lv build, they were all junk. I would suggest buying the line, and tools to make your own. I got a set of S.S. ones from Cruiser solutions for $300. Had to wait over a month to get them and they fit like sh-t! Had to bend and re-bend to wedge them in, total waste of money in my opinon. Ended up buying line and tools and did half of them over again anyway.

The above pic. the two brackets are 180 off if you did not already know.

Get my PM on the color code you asked for?

I did not know and still don't :D Any pics for the slow kid?? I honestly didn't think they could go in any other way?

Yep, got your PM. I might just head down to the auto parts store and have them mix me a half pint of single stage. I think I would like to use single stage ureathane and I only need it for the jack and 2 handles.

Thanks, Matt

The pic where the tool bag goes. The two brackets that are holding down the band are 180 off. I made the same mistake and ripped the band.

Did you paint speedo face and glove box door?
