Nice work looks good in a 80.In South Africa we are behind on most things so for what its worth I will be using a spittronic ECU system comes complete with harnes and plugs and is pre programed for the motor.

Stealing with my eyes.:clap::clap::clap:

I have had the old 3F motor as well as a UZ motor at the machine shop for 3 weeks now. I am waiting on them to finish up my trans adapter and flex plate adapter. He said it would be done last week and still nothing. Hopefully next week. As soon as I get the adapter plate I can drop the motor in and get this thing going.

The long waited adapter and flex plate finally arrived. The machine shop is good, but they take a LONG TIME! This should work out pretty good. I still need a small flex plate adapter, but I don't know the thickness yet. After I put the motor/trans together I can get that measurment and then finish the electrical and exhaust.

I will probably start selling these adapters as well.

Slow going. I only get about 5 hours a week to work on this, I was hoping for 15 but that just doesn't happen.

I have all my adapters, I have put on a SC400 oil pan, but I still need to modify the steel lower part. I just have to cut out a chunk next to the front diff. I will probably lose about a half a quart capacity, but that should be fine.

I purchased some headers, but they were for a pre 2005 motor and they don't have the air injection. Seems like Boost Brothers, may be going out of business or slowing down so I can't get cheap headers anymore. I had to spend a good deal of time cutting off the runners and welding them to the stock exhaust flange. This set me back a couple days. I am also adding V-band flanges instead of the stock 3 bolt. I like vband way better, especially in hard to reach places.

I am still working on wiring and the possibilty of security. In the schematics I can't find anywhere where a key module is. I am not sure that 2005 tundras had a coded key. I will need to get one for a sequoia as I know they do. I have fired up the motor, but only with starter fluid. The injectors don't seem to be firing at this time, but I haven't really dug into it yet.

if it's a VVTi engine .. yes ..

Ok, well I looked all over the schemtics and I found no key module. I also hope it doesn't have to interface through the security module or I will have to find one of those. BLAH!

I just found out I got the wrong ECU. CRAP!!!!

I got one for a V6 tundra, not for the V8.

BTW, 2005 tundra's do not have the engine immobilzier. 2006 did and Sequoia's. I know where to get a 2005 ECU locally. Hopefully they don't charge me much for it. Same place I got my other ECU connectors and gas pedal.

Got the right ECU in, did some more wiring, hooked up the fuel lines...and WALLA, fired right up...once I figured I had run the fuel lines backwards.

Now this swap can start going at a faster pace. I am pretty sure it will be drivable by the end of the month.

So....ANY TAKERS YET?

Is it for sale? Or are you ready to offer kits for those of us who want V8's in our 80's?

DBW? Dunno, I used the pedal from a 2005 tundra.

DNP, yes it is for sale.

And yes I will sell kits to do this conversion, but I need to drive it around a bit to make sure the adapter works like it is supposed to.

Great to hear ths convertion is moving foward.Looking foward to seeing pics. There is no better feeling when that motor fires up and you know the time you spent was worth it.:D:cheers::clap::steer:

doesn't really look any different than what I have already posted, except I have the headers on and a different oilpan.

drive by wire .. and yest if it comes from a 2005 tundra it is .. did you connect ir throught factory harness ?

Oh yeah, haha.

No, I just had it temporarily wired up to the ECU sitting on the fender. Wires exposed and all, just to fire it up.

This week I will go through and actually hook up all the wiring permanently. I will create my own lengthened harness for the gas pedal.

I have the wiring almost complete, and got the exhaust done back to the mufflers. I made a custom X-pipe(I will TRY to get some pics tonight and some video) I was able to fit the mufflers in the stock muffler location. I am running dual 44 series Flowmasters and are quite loud, but give a really low muscle car rumble. I wonder if I should get maybe the 40 series if it would quite it up at all.

Drivelines will be here on Tuesday, hopefully it will be ready to drive by then.
