Starting a build thread for my 97 that I'm in the middle of a 2UZ swap. Seeing all the old build threads from the good Pirate4x4 days and all the good info I've found on this site got me wanting to do the same for this build. Good way to keep all progression and notes in one area while sharing...

I left off that there are at least three different V8 4R air box tops. Choose the one that best fits your installation.

Early models take a round MAF, have a lower profile, and support a ~90mm tube.

Mid models had a tube size change and support a ~95mm tube.

Later models (06+) have a higher profile top, MAF changed, and support the ~95mm tube.

I find the lid from the earliest model fits best, especially on trucks with mild lifts where the engine must be placed high.
