2nd Button Stuck 2000 LC (2 Viewers)

Hello,
When I started my truck this morning I noticed my second start light was on the dash. I looked down and the button was stuck. I think I’m going to end up having to take out the center console but can’t yet due to time. Any way to solve this problem without doing that yet? Is it even bad for it to be in second gear on start all the time? Just trying to get an idea of what is going on.

You can drive it that way for as long as you want. It'll save the first gear wear.

Zero. I had it detailed and I think it might be something sticky from that.

Spray some CRC plastic safe contact cleaner around the perimeter.

I buy it when I'm at HD buying other bulk stuff; I use it by the case. You can get it most anywhere; auto parts stores have it, too.

FWIW, the shiny stuff detailers spray on everything eats plastic.

I told him no shiny stuff bc I hate the way it feels and looks. I think something he used to clean it just got sticky.
