propane is god..

Mace- You run your mixer draw-through, correct?

Do propane mixer's not suffer the same issues as a draw-through carb in a turbo application?

Don't know much about propane mixers...

I have an FJ60, 2F that is fuel injected, would the turbo work with that? It needs some help, engine recently rebuilt.

Would someone put together a parts list.
Thanks
Jeff

Hi Mo-Troopy,

Do you have a FJ60 or a FJ40?

What issues?

My 2F hits 5K commonly.
If you compare power application with a supercharger and a turbocharger you will notice that a TC typically builds a lot more boost. Conventional wisdom is that if you really want power a turbo is where it is at..

And, the relative octane of propane is 105. Means boost can be turned up, a lot..

Dimensions?

I have 316 stainless plate in .500" for the flanges.
We have a medical grade EDM ready to go too........

C'mon Mace
It is slightly angled. Would it be easier if I just sent it to you??
I spent last night measuring things.. The cruiser flange is also not symmetrical

Propane mixers have a variable venturi. The diaphragm opens and closes depending on how much vacuum is being pulled from the intake or in Mace's case the turbo. So under boost the diaphragm opens wide up allowing more propane vapor to flow through the system.

Same goes with the propane converter. It is all a bunch of diaphragms that open and close to the amount of vacuum being pulled through the system.

Rust is evil..

I am having to spend a LOT more time fixing issues on this turbo than I shoudl have. I might have to replace the turbine...

If you're not going after peak HP, why not 2 small turbos. It only costs twice as much. ;p Is there enough room?

I picked-up my turbo motor this weekend, but it's for a different project. :bounce:

I try not to overcomplicate things...

So Mace when are we expecting a detailed layout of your turbo with some pics?:D

as soon as I either replicate the adapter or just say to hell with it and start putting it back together ;)

Mace, i noticed in previous threads from 2005 that u mentioned you would replicate the adapter, but you never have. The adapter is the only thing holding me back. I would buy one instantly if you made a bulk. I want to have the parts by christmas so it would be nice if you had it replicated cause i can't wait a few more years. Thanks bud.

working on getting it replicated or just making a solidworks model you can have created..

Redcorn Has the adapter and is drawing it up in solidworks.

Hope to see something about Xmas time..

great, this is a really cool idea for the 2f, I searched but didn't come up with much. Mace, you got any other links to doing this?

Thanks!
