My newer 2f has no oil cooler but my 75 2f did have it. Question should I use it or not ?

Thanks I have all the right parts , But is it like you said is it worth the trouble, Maybe just a conversation piece I live in Ca,
I've heard of those getting clogged up and cracking. I use an engine oil cooler that's built into the radiator. Like Cruiserbrett said, can't hurt. I would flush and clean it out.
Just got a non-US 84 FJ40 on BaT and it’s got more issues than I suspected. It has an oil cooler but it isn’t connected to anything. Should I just cap it, try to get it reconnected or remove and plug where it was attached to the engine. A little worried that dirt / dust is being sucked into it.

I say plug it for now take care other issues first, winter coming,

FWIW the oil cooler and all the lines and hoses are still available (or at least they were 6 months ago). Agree with others that I wouldn't worry about it for now.
Thx. I stuck some corks in the open pipes for now.
