Hi All, the previous owner of my truck ran headers and removed the downpipe and downpipe brackets. Does anyone have images of how and where the downpipe brackets attach on the frame and/or drivetrain? I believe the below brackets I highlighted in yellow attach somewhere before the catalytic converter and may be partially hidden by the skidplate. Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Maybe these will help. Stock down pipe but the air injection tube has been removed.

I will try to get some pictures. I just happen to have the skid plate off. I am in Ventura CA if your close by come over and take a peek. Are the removed headers in good shape?

Thank you 🙏. I'm in LA County, South Bay. Ventura is not too far but my challenge is getting across the county and making it back in time to pick up my two toddlers from preschool. Weekends I try to catch up on work and groceries, etc. The headers are in good shape. A bit rusty on the outside but I think that's pretty common. Here is a picture of them.

are you talking #60 above ?

If you look under your truck you may find part #63 (hanger) in section B attached to your frame near the end of the downpipe but before the cat. Hopefully some dumbass at an exhaust shop didn't cut it off. Part #30 is the rubber cushion and is still available from Toyota. I don't have the "A" bracket/attachment on mine, and wouldn't sweat it. Just attach "B" where it is shown in the schematic (in front of the cat). I doubt parts 61 and 65 are available but you could probably source them from a parts vehicle or just fabricate using sheet metal and bending it and drilling holes then attach lower end to the top of the exhaust clamp and the other to the cushion. the hanger postion will dictate where it will end up on the exhaust pipe.

I am interested in buying your header if it is for sale.

So I have this bracket, but it appears to be different from the bracket in the above photo. It looks like the bracket in the above photo mounts to the bell housing-to-transmission bolts. Does anyone know where the bracket in the picture below mounts to in terms of transmission or frame? This bracket corresponds to box "A" number 60 in the above screenshot I posted. Thanks for any additional insights.

Yes, I don't know how #60 attaches from the downpipe to the other fastening point. It takes two bolts on the other end but I don't know where to attach the bracket to. I also have 61, 63, and 65 and the photos above definitely helpful with regard to those.

i have a solid suggestion here that will help this thread topic for sure

that diagram above is NOT a toyota OEM parts diagram , it's a late 1980 artists rendition that is from SOR.com

it's very generalized at best ,

we need first generation EPC microfice that has been transitioned from the original POSITIVE type slides from the old WWII era bulb in a giant Metal box , to then they were

scanned into a simple yet details matter here black and white parts diagram

so ,

your thread title is :

2F Downpipe bracket images/photos

the lack of any additional TECH SPEC. data other then your AVATAR logo image has / is created a guessing game of speculations and maybys etc..

- if we know more like your production and modle ID code off your door jamb and engine bay data ID plates , i can then produce exacting OEM TOYOTA genuine parts diagrams , and then from them conclude correct oem toyota part numbers too ..

- your 17 digit VIN # is best , you can PM me it if your not comfortable posting it here in open forum , its cool eiter way by me

- then we see if there was a parts # supersession either frontwards or backwards ...

- now , why is all this by the FSM / parts cataloger info needed ?

- because the moment you have this and that , only monuments later you will know exactly what your indeed looking for , and where is is suposed mount up , also you can verify all the A , B , C , D and F things you have are correct too

- heck , you can even see all the oem part #'s for the big bag of TEq-SEMS mounting hardware your gonna need now to create what it is you trying to do , and let me tell you what brother , seeing a completed little oem parts parts projesct turn out exactly the correct way your first Rodeo you have at it , is truly a rewarding experience each and every time you do just that

Yes, correct, I just lifted the image off of SOR's site. The EPC looks like it has two variations for this bracket. TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 60FJ60LG-KA - TOOL-ENGINE-FUEL - EXHAUST PIPE | Japan Parts EU - http://www.japan-parts.eu/toyota/us/1984/land-cruiser-60/fj60lg-ka/4_791420_004_/tool-engine-fuel/1702_exhaust-pipe

I have the upper style bracket that was flat. Maybe the lower style bracket was for later model trucks? Mine is an '82, so maybe Toyota changed the upper downpipe bracket for later model FJ60s?

Oddly, they both have the same part number and date range in the above EPC link:

I guess I could hook up the downpipe and see how it fits best. Gotta get a clamp for these two bits first.

That bracket there is the 8/80-4/85 type

Top of the diagram LH side

Now …

The square end is at the bottom per the Diagram …

These original first gen epc Diagrams are image correct ✅ 97.420 % of the time …

Don’t over think this and try to think the TEq paper print Media is tricking you in some way always …

Do you own in hand both paper print Media copies of the TAN 2F FSM and the TAN chassis body FSM …

The Term PDF is the wrong answer here …hint hint …

These would have helped you on the exhaust system topic as well too

FYI
