Yes the pump has been machined/improved and the pressure relief increased as well as some improvements to the oil paths.

I think you did something similar with your build.

Will have to look at what oil will suit best, cost is not an issue, also I think as long as the pump is in tip top condition all should be good, more problems lie here form lack of regular oil changes and maintenance and as you know the earlier 1F was more of an issue.

Do a search and note the number of motors where either main 3 or bigend 5 fail. Various theories as to why this is - I'm inclined to go with the fact there is slightly less oil in these bearings becaise 3 main feeds the rockers oiling.

Will be interested to see what your oil pressures are like once you've redlined it a few times :)

Might like to consider a twin filter remote mount (or have you already - cant recall) - something like a 5-7 psi drop across a single filter...

If main 3 is an issue the cross drilling of the crank should help there.

The Jag conrods have the added advantage of been narrower at the crank so less surface contact area, on top of that the Jag con rod shell's are of a far better quality than the 2F ones so I'm told.

So how does the cross-drilling help oiling?

Cross drilling gives a more even spread of oil around the bearing, rather than depending on just the original 2 holes. It does not supply more oil, just a better distribution I belive. That's how I understood the explanation.

Can't wait to see this all buttoned up and running.

(we need some drooling smilies)

wow....that's a lot of jack for a 2F. I could have sent you a brand new 1HZ for that. Did you need to stick with the 2F for rules and such?

Doh, I could have had a V8 :D

(and about twice as much HP)

(and about 140 Kg less weight)

No rules on engines in challenge class.

I'm just a 2F fan

I cant wait for Matt to come and visit me to take me for a spin, ;) :steer: it was terrifying enough driving to the parts shop with no doors on :D

BJ

BJ, you'd probably just be happy to ride in something that has more than 4kW! :p

WELL you definately have the most expensive 2F build in Mud. Unless someone else can top it? And they thought Vortecs were expensive!!:D
