Doing this I would take lowers compression slighly too, if I understand correctly. By eyebrowning you mean to angle slightly the edge up to the flame ring, outside the cylinder bore, so that fuel has nowhere to pool.
This would give you a cleaner burn I guess, power gains?

sorry it took me a while to get back, yes it will wind up lowering comrpession a smidge. but the increased efficiency due to lack of fuel pooling as well as the increased flow from the valves will easily make up for the different in compression. Our flow bench test with that lip in place show a 20 cfm decrease in flow, by eyebrowing the cylinder you pick up more flow and a better combustion event.

Also the the cylinders are to be eyebrowed, Colins good slow but good:D

Tis done:)

do you have any pics of the eyebrowing?

All been well I should be able to get some photos on Wednesday. The O-rings were going in the last time I called but the 36Thou cut was taking 8 passes I think per cylinder. Been such a fine tool it was pretty slow going and I did not have time to stay and see all the head work been finished.

My plan is to drop my camera in on Wednesday and leave it there, as the final assembly I think will all happen pretty quick. I'd like to see the finished cradle in place as well as the crank fitted, this will also show that the Jag con rods are narrower than the 2F rods at the crank. Thrust therefor has to be from the JE pistons.

Well New Years Eve is upon us so I would like to say

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL:beer::beer:

The end of this week will see stage one complete The Build:D

Then time for stage two The Swap:bounce:

So for all those that have posted up, thanks for your help some of it has been most useful, with interesting points of view and different angles on how to do things. Keep the ideas coming.

2008 should be a very interesting year:D bring on he DYNO

Re drilling the holes for the cylinder head then de bured and finaly tapped for the recoil to suit the corse imperial thread.

Very interesting build

Happy New Year,

This has got to be the most interesting build I have read on Mud to date, I have been dreaming of doing this to my 40 for 10 years. I am going to inject my 2F and turbo it, until I can buy a 1HD-FTE 1/2 cut.
That is some awesome work you are doing, a very clean build.

Good luck with the race.:beer: Cheers mate.

Tks

Well a sad day today:crybaby: the old trust 2F made her way from work for the final time 110KPH down the free way purring like a kitten. Have to admit even though it's mine this is the quietest smoothest and quickest 2F I have come across, after 4 years of hard driving, not even a hint of smoke or even a rattle it seems a shame to be pulling it out. Not bad as a spare though:hhmm:

However the new 2F should be smoother quicker though maybe not quite as quiet as the Turbo whistles out of the new 3" exhaust:grinpimp:

Did you ever take it past redline?

You're teasing again :D

Did you ever take it past redline?

1 yep:hillbilly:

2 Red Line:confused: I don't have a rev counter, is that when the valves start bouncing and it starts running out of power with my foot trying to push the peddle through the floor :grinpimp: @ 160KPH

Well I'm finaly getting excited

Here's the latest.

The eyebrowed cylinders.
