Agreed on using the newer intake and throttle body, this will take the ****py aux air flow valve that is a PITA and $$$$$ to replace. Also clean the injectors mrinjector.com is a good place to have this done, not too pricey. New OEM PCV and check and replace old vacuum line and other runner hoses.

this is nice to know.

They come up on eBay for about 125.00, this is the upper intake TB and TPS. This set up was on the newer 22re up to 95. Could check the junk yards but 22re parts go quick!

but had no where to put it. after i bought that crappy head off Ebay i think i will stick to the scrap yards or a truck. With upper plenum swap comes a slightly different EGR setup (nope, not an issue), idle temp control (not an issue, use existing sensors), CSI (not an issue, use existing), TPS connections (not an issue, see note below).
My comments in red.
The TPS is a non issue. You can reuse your existing TPS by swapping out the pawl underneath your existing throttle body and installing on the late-model throttle body.
Would there be harm in removing the old aux air valve wiring from the harness?
Didn't mean to imply that these are a show stopper, will just need to be looked at while the motor is out to make sure you have the right connector for the harness. These are just easier to change when you have the motor on a stand vs in the truck. Many harness connectors are different so you're going to end up using many of the components from your old motor or splicing in new connectors.
