I bought my father-in-law's 2000 series 100 recently and I am working on preparing it for the next 200,000 miles. He was great about oil changes and keeping it clean, but he hasn't used it much in the last 5 years and can't remember what work he had done. I know he had some major brake work done 4 years ago, including a new master cylinder, but I can't get good records from Carfax or the dealers. I enjoy working on it, and this is what I've done so far:

Oil
Oil filter
Serpentine belt
Serpent belt tensioner bearing
Timing belt (looks like first time)
TB pulleys & tensioner
Water pump
Coolant
Spark plugs

I am taking it into the dealer Wednesday for ATF EXCHANGE (not flush) and will have them do the differentials while it up there.

What else should I look at?
 
Drive shaft U-joints and slip yoke.
Adjust park brake
Air filter
 
Timing Belt - first time and 204,000 miles? Gives me more confidence that these belts are more
durable than we thought.
 
I can't be certain since the CarFax and dealer reports often list just "Scheduled Maintenance" being done but it was covered with cracks and felt like an old leather strap.
 
Thats how my 220k Mile timing belt looked too.

I would probably grease the front hubs. Chances are they havent been lubed up in a long time. And check suspension bushings. Maybe a fuel filter if youre bored and feel like smelling gas.
 
You'll also want to check your coolant tee fittings in the heater core lines, chances are those probably need done as well
 
What @snoname said. Definitely replace those fittings.

Replace shocks, endlinks, sway bar bushings if needed. OEM shocks are cheap and rides pretty good. Steering rack bushing - really improve how the driving experience of the car (do a search here for step by step).
 
Wheel bearing service (clean & repack with grease), should include axle bearing & bushing service as well, "Often missed".
Inspect & repair leaks.
Change oil.
Change T-case, front & rear differential gear lubes.
Steering rack mounting bushing (everyone I've seen needs this).
Check all front end boots. (Steering, ball joints, TRE's, & drive shafts)
Flush power steering (I like M1 syn MV AFT for this & transmission fluid), may also need to clean reservoir to re-clamp reservoir hoses.
Flush brake fluid. (make sure all bleeders have caps/covers)
Have ABS cycled.
Inspect flexible brake lines.
Inspect rotors & pads of brakes.
Service PCV, hose and grommet.
Check all vacuum lines on air box.
Flush AHC if applicable. (make sure all bleeder caps/covers)
Clean throttle body.
Clean MAF (disconnecting battery for 30 minutes)
Clean & grease battery post.
Re-torque valve cover bolts.
Check all suspension bushing.
Rotate best tires to front & balance.
Alignment (include ACH setup).
Have fuel injectors cleaned, tested & rebuilt. (optional)
Pressure test radiator & gas cap.
Flush coolant & R&R heater T's.
De-rust and rust prevent.
Wash, clay bar & wax.
Clean & condition leather.
Treat rubber, plastic & vinyl.

Add a can of 44K to gas tank.

Right on. One blew out last night on the way home from Thanksgiving dinner. Grandma got to ride home in a tow truck. When I found it this morning, one leg of the tee was broke off and the other two were crumbling like water logged fiberboard. Replacing both tees. Toyota P/N 87248-60460 Pipe, Water (available on Amazon). New one looks like better plastic, improved since 2000.
