Back by popular demand, the Relic Run is being offered for the distinguished vintage Toyota owner.

If you've got an old rig that needs a trail day, come join us. Speeds are low, fun is high.

1989 and older seems about right. But everyone is welcome to join. If you have fancy 21st century features like electric windows and a cup holder, we'll just point and laugh and put you at the back of the pack. ;)

I'll update this first post with the particulars as they become set.

When: Sunday, October 19, 2025

Where: TBD. Open to ideas here.

Your rig might get scratches and get buried to the axles in mud and need a recovery. Ya know, fun stuff.

What you'll need:
A good sense of humor.
Patience.
Gifts for others if you bring a rig that has alien tech like traction control or ABS.
A winch. (Not really, but in case you need an excuse to get one )
A thermos of coffee to drink and share.
GMRS Radio.
Other stuff...-Standard trail equipment is expected. Fire extinguisher, working e-brake (if you're lucky), radio, spare, etc. Read this as a disclaimer to bring a rig that is trail ready. But also realize there will be air compressors and other misc gear abound, so if you don't have everything OK4WD has in their catalog, don't sweat it.

Post up if you're in and I'll add you to the list. Tag others that I forgot.

Maybe, just maybe, one day I'll make a trail run. I've been in the club for almost 9 years (I think) and I've never made a run. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town on Oct. 19th.

I've never done either of these, but they look interesting. I'm open to other suggestions, variations on these suggestions, insults, trivia, personal anecdotes, family recipes, and investment advice.

Can you do some screenshots? Links don't work without an OnX account.

I was thinking Avalanche Creek area too. The Club did a run up there a few years back and it was cool. We came down Confederate Creek (to the east of Avalanche Creek) which was exposed two track with great views. I wondered if we could also loop in Hogback Mountain lookout on that run. (46.82657, -111.71115)

And also trying to make something work in the Gravellys or south of there around Hidden Lake (44.71805, -111.60045).

I don’t think you can make it to lava mountain via that route anymore. Or maybe they did go the long way. Used to be a fun shortcut but the hill was super washed out and I dented my a pillar very bad. I’d have to look at my Gaia

Cool. I did get those links to work, without a current subscription.

The blue path is what we did for the Club run. Nothing too difficult as I recall. Avalanche Butte had a great view, and a old survey bench mark. Yellow path is the connector to Hogback Lookout. But it might be too far out to connect in one day.

Maybe we look at the Avalanche Creek area and try to put together a route around there?

Trail 4155 goes up to Hogback lookout/comms site about 6 1/2 miles north of York.

One possible route:

We could make one of the gas stations in Townsend our rally point. Convoy north for 25 miles on 284 to Avalanche Gulch Rd. (46.60431, -111.61043) Probably air down and then drive 18ish miles north on Avalanche Gulch Rd to Antelope Creek Rd. (46.80198, -111.52652) 11ish miles west on Antelope Creek Rd/4155 gets us to the lookout. (46.82638, -111.71031) Then another 5 1/2ish miles west on Antelope Creek Rd/4155 gets us to Nelson Rd, which would be our air up point. (46.79671, -111.79515)

Any thoughts on that?

The route I posted would miss Avalanche Butte.
