That was fun.

I lucked out on the way home, saw a small mountain lion on Skalkaho!

2025 Run is in the books. 9 rigs came out to play. The trail from Maxville to Thompson Lake and further Goat Mountain Lakes did not disappoint. It was a long day. My tracker had us out a little over 12 hours from air down to air up. Had our fair share of trail fixes but enough tools and experience around to solve things without issue. Great group and a great trail!

Trask felt kind of bad about that hole that almost swallowed old blue lol. when he went down there to check out the campsites he started to sink in the swamp right there , he said his 42's dug pretty deep getting out of there. no backing out of that trail till you get thru that hole to the turn around area. that was when we decided to continue up the hill to the next lake where the pics of the 40's was taken. he's not happy with his decision not to ride with me, got ahold of me about midnight friday night saying he has too much to do getting ready for this years unreal adventure trip next month. he's looking forward for the relic run this fall and even bought a 1st gen pu for it. hint hint for those with the classic solid axle toyotas, you won't want to miss this one.
for the guys with 40's that didn't make it you missed a heck of a trip although it was kinda long lol. this one had almost everything, uphill, downhill, watercrossing, sketch wooden crossings, rocks, loose round rocks on the above uphill sections and throw in some boulders to add to the challenge and even having to pull some wire to continue the trip, electrical issues, carb issues and most surpising tire issues. you would think 70's era tires would last longer than this lol. everyone made it to the lake and out without any issues that i know ofother than paul catching that rock. this was what 40's were built to handle, and when there was an issue it was resolved with vicegrips, a knife and plastic zip ties only because we didn't have any baleing wire with us.
