Not cross-shopping, more like leasing an apartment while waiting for a house to be built. It‘s a compromise with capability, but I can tolerate a unibody that will do 80% of what I want to do while waiting for the vehicle that will do 99%.

35s? Yeah, but no. I'm 62 and not getting any stronger. Changing one of my 33" K02s on my 200 is a pain in my back and knees. Those darn things are heavy. A 35" tire? NF way I want to change one of those, nor do I want the expense of the necessary regearing. YMMV.
I love both the GX and the Land Cruiser, I just need pricing. If these boost up too high I'm just going to go with a Sequoia.
Sequoia is significantly larger. Too big for me, but YMMV.

Probably a cost consideration. Clamshell hatch adds sognificant cost especially when it needs to be motorized. Same reason Full fat RR has clamshell and the sport doesn’t.
The entire back would have to be flat to have a roll down window, o don’t think it would work with the slight angle of the rear window.
Maybe the internals of the taco are more light duty and weaker. Obviously different stuff.
They probably tested internally and know the limits better than anyone.
I'd guess very few people modify LC300s to run big tires or take them into technically challenging terrain. Lots of tacoma owners do. So it may just be the use profile differences.

Yes, it's very hard to do an unreliable mild-hybrid. It's a lot simpler and dumb system than a real hybrid like a Prius.
Think of it as a starter that would always be in gear (instead of having a solenoid to connect) and ca be reverse to either generate electricity (as an alternator), start the engine (as a regular starter), or assist the ICE engine with a little bit more torque. Actually you can even have 1 less active component in your engine bay as it can replace the alternator and the starter.
There are even companies that currently work on aftermarket mild-hybrid systems to adapt to engines that did not have it originally.

My mom is 99. Given how I feel now, I can’t imagine how bad I’ll feel if I live that long.
There are many places you CAN go in a Subaru that are far less stressful to get to in a Land Cruiser.

Tacoma owners in the US can't come close lol.
We drive them like crazy off road and send them at very high speeds
And many do it stock without mods but mods are also super common so what your saying can't be the case.
I know lots of people running large tires on 300s.
At the end of the day sometimes engineers make mistakes and he probably just what he said on the spot.

Good catch! I would say the 3-door version of the Prado as it has always existed in 3 doors but was not mention yet for the 250.
