Bit of a departure in grille design..

Also why is everyone drawing conclusions about departure angle well before we can make side-by-side comparisons? It is well known and stated in this thread that different bumper designs are offered in different markets. As it is the low front bumper from the first picture seems it could be an add-on to a more modest one.

All of your posts scream, "I don't have an LX so I hate them. I don't have a 300 so I hate it." Its ok to admit that there is another hot girl other than yours.
Says the guy who puts down Heritage Edition every single chance he gets! Not all of us have short attention span like you…who buys a Land Cruiser every other year and then claim the latest buy to be the best even though only color changed! :D

Not so long ago, several HE folks accused you of crapping on their ride because your LC is a wannabe HE and you were putting their ride down. How short is your attention span again? Squirrel!

I don’t dislike it because it isn’t really different enough to illicit any particular change in opinion from the 200. Seems like an updated grill.

I cant say that there is a cruiser variation that I haven’t liked. I even like the newer LXs. I’d buy a new LC or LX without hesitation.

itll be interesting to see what the various trim options are, and it’ll be more interesting to see the LX versions that’ll actually make it to the states.

As long made in Japan .... I am interested!
That’s all I need to know.

LOL…see movie “UP”…and you will know what i mean. :)
Great movie. I really liked the scene
”squirrel”. Wait, what was I saying? 🤣

"Put him in the cone the cone of shame"
Sorry could not help myself. Peace Out

If you are in North America, this is all you will ever see.

Give it a year or two.
They’ll be back.
Anyone wanna bet $100 on that, I’m game. :hillbilly:

I'm excited for the 300. They are gonna sell a crap load of these in Russia, Australia, and the Middle east. Also glad it got turbo'ed out. Can guarantee theres going to be a good aftermarket and a lot of people slapping bigger turbos and meth injection.

Blah blah blah about the styling. As it was stated before, with every release since the 60 series, "oh its a mall crawler", "its ugly", "can't offroad", but yet every single Crusier outdoes the previous. Whats been said about these supposed 300 pics is the same stuff that has been said about the 60,80,100, and 200.

Yeah this guy knows what’s up. I see the same “it’s ugly”, “not true to heritage”, “never buy one, glad I got my original” “not built like they’re used to” blablabla reaction whenever a new generation comes - whether it’s cars, boats, watches, pistols, etc etc.

And it’s the same guys who later say “oh gee, it’s not that bad” and then buy new generation. Although a few stick to their guns and continue to hate on new generation.

I like the LC300 and want one parked next to my LC200. I’ll wait one year or two for kinks to be worked out and also see if LC will be offered again in US. If it’s really true, then I’ll get a LX (please Lexus keep the boxy LC300 front end and not make it angular, spindle ugly).

As long as it doesn’t have IRS.

The styling reminds me of the 4runner/ GX460

Personally, I dont really care where they assemble it. They build Land Cruiser 200s at the Toyota Changchun Assembly Plant in Tianjin, China too (not for US market due to powertrain differences) and the build quality is every bit as good as Japan. Japan doesn't make it special - the Toyota manufacturing process does.

Perhaps I'm getting details wrong, but location matters. Even with Mr. T. 5.7L engines built in the US aren't as good as the 5.7s built in Japan.

By what measure? Ive worked in toyota parts and assembly plants all over the world. There is no difference. The quality process doesn’t allow it.

Believe the failure rates on Tundra engines (built here in USA) are higher than those in Japan. Read something about it on this very forum. But maybe I'm wrong. I'm as red blooded as they come, but I'd rather have a Cruiser built in Japan than the US, and especially China. I don't care what "quality controls" you tell me are in place.

Couldn't agree more.

Engine is going to be doubly interesting. Don't get me wrong as I love big bore N/A V8s. But I also have a thing for turbo'd powerplants. Especially the overbuilt Toyota type. And this will be a truck engine to boot. It'll take a wee bit of more boost.
