2022 LC200 or LC300?

The pic in the first post has terrible fisheye lens effect. Looking at these below I think 300 is going to look great and still like a Landcruiser

I like how the bumper cover is fairly straight across. Seems to have well defined lines for easy aftermarket bumper options. I never liked the fact that the 200 had so many aftermarket bumpers with plastic inserts or the need to cut parts and such because of the crazy upper lines of the OEM bumper cover. The 300 seems to have addressed that.

I reckon they’ll sell a ton of these in the African continent as well. Toyota is King here.
As for the US market, I seem to recall a meeting with a Toyota engineer or bigwig, saying they’ll never pull the LC from the USA. It’s posted up somewhere on this forum. My bet is that they’re going to reintroduce it for MY 2022/23.

By what measure? Ive worked in toyota parts and assembly plants all over the world. There is no difference. The quality process doesn’t allow it.
Yet somehow when comparing how the Japan built trucks age (LC200, Prado, 4Runner) vs non Japanese (Sequoia, Tundra) in the rattles per minute metric.. there seems to be a gap in the 'quality process'

Looks like a much smaller 3rd row, if it has a 3rd row.
The LC300, depending on trim, is 1-2” larger than the 200 in length and width. Id assume the 3rd row is the same size as the 200 but with much better seating.

interesting item - they lowered the height of the vehicle due to lots of complaints about the 200 not fitting in parking garages. I hope they didn’t accomplish this by just deleting the roof rails.

I hope the bottom skirt is a part of some package and won’t be on all of them

Some of them have roof racks like the current LC 200 and some have rails like the current LX and some have none at all. This is due to foreign markets. They didn’t delete the roof racks or rails. See the earlier posts in this thread discussing.

I’m really trying to like this but I keep seeing Escalade and Nissan Patrol secret love child. I could forget that real quick if the turbos are seductive and there’s Apple CarPlay.

I’m in the US so it really doesn’t matter what I think but I am genuinely more curious about it’s capabilities over its looks.

Same. More travel? 10-spd auto to jump into the numbers/marketing game of GM/Ford/etc? Already talk of semi-hybrid. Retain KDSS or replace with something better? AHC still? I assume they’ll offer a vanilla trim with regular bars.

And what did they do to that turbo v6 to get it to be as durable as they expect?

TFL had a great podcast on Friday with an insider intimate with all the details. Take a listen.

Thanks, I’ll check it out.

TBH given the facelift and interior changes I feel like the 2016 LC was supposed to be the 300, but Toyota didn't have the engine ready so they kept the 200 name. At least in photos (inside and out) the 300 looks more like a 2016+ 200 than IMO the 2016-2021 did to the 2008-2015.
