This is in UAE on a 2020To be fair, overseas 200s had different front bumper options than we had. Traditionally, a much lower approach angle on the ones in the desert.

The one closer to the camera seems to have much better approach/departure and I can't tell, but it kind of looks like a non-integrated step.
Dude. They have the same “approach angle” on the Middle East LC 200s. Don’t hate on the 300.Looks like an Escalade in front…..and boring as hell in back.
It seems that approach angle is now as bad as LX…might as well add a shovel to the that nose! Oh wait, that may come as a ”Sports” package!
Unless something magical in its 4wd system and powertrain, i am damn glad that i have a LC200.
You’re right. At least two trims. The top one has the rail style tracks for roof crossbars like the current LX or Tahoe has and two toned mirrors and a different bumper. This pic is interesting. There's at least two trims represented with the top one seemingly to be a higher trim?
- body colored side mirrors
- integrated step
- lower body cladding
- larger wheels
- roof rack
I do hope that there's a future land cruiser for the states. Maybe after initially skipping the launch year? Or Toyota is coming up with some larger branding exercise for a whole line of off-roaders?
It'll take some time for the new style to grow on me, but having watched so many generations, the first reactions aren't always positive. Some of these changes are just following where every car is going. Like the door mounted side mirrors - aero and NVH advantages. Deeper chin for aero and mpg. The hatch...I'm hoping the rest of world gets this lift hatch and they're still developing a split gate? Who knows. I'm sure this model will grow on everyone especially after its beast mode is better understood and amplified by the aftermarket. As of right now, it just comes off as a another new non-descript SUV.

So, approach angle on the non-Middle East LC300 will be good??Dude. They have the same “approach angle” on the Middle East LC 200s. Don’t hate on the 300.
I remember when the 200 came out (my first 200 was a 2008). Everyone hated on it too.

I don’t know…the 2016+ headlights are phenomenal. Triple beam LEDs as seen in some Lexus actually got bad ratings from IIHS.On the plus side, it looks like you may be able to switch the 300 front end with the headlights onto the current 200. I'm sure the headlights will be an upgrade.
Imagine the top half of the 300 mated with the current 200 bottom half. You gain the more modern look with the current approach and departure angles.
WIN/WIN
Wonder what a photoshop would look like?
Agreed. It looks just like 200 with a facelift. Toyota needs to hire some Land Rover designers (NOT engineers). With just about every other big SUV getting good looking designs…Toyota drew inspiration from LC200 with an Escalade face. Are we sure this isn't just new YM 200? I know they said that would be it, but that doesn't look like a platform increment. It just looks like a 200 with some body changes.
For the 300, I was expecting a fairly significant progression in styling.
Seems to be an unfortunate trend for a lot of manufacturers -
So true. Rewind to the beginning of the 200 Series on this forum. A LOT of hate. It's a bubble, looks gross it will never be a 100 or 80. Toyota lost it. And here we are loving our 200's. Times change. Toyota has to change the motor to make it more fuel efficient or they will not be able to compete. The gas millage is horrible compared to other SUVs in the category. For the general population this a major concern no matter your income. Most of the folks that contribute on this forum are modding and doing things knowingly that will decrease gas millage and could care less besides the occasional complaint. But this is just the die hard 4x4 community.
If Toyota wants to continue selling the Land Cruiser in North America they have to make these changes. No one spending the money wants a clunky screen, 16mpg on a good day and the look from the early 2000's. I love it but the fact is most consumers hate it. I am happy they are making these changes if it means they will continue to sell LC's here regardless what it looks like now. At least the front is not as fancy as the LX with the spoiler?

So true isn't it? I remember all those same comments. And it continues even in the divide between LC and LX diehards in the same generational 200-series. People like what they like and change can be difficult, even if it may be objectively better.
The reality is that manufactures are calculated in their decisions and designs. They're seeking new car buyers with new car sales. The designs are aligned to new car buyer sensibilities, even if that means ostentations grills, because that's what's selling. Not the desires of enthusiasts in the secondary market or niche traditionalists. Hopefully Toyota has heard the call though that overlanding and off-roading is blowing up. And there's tons of opportunity for the right type of car at the right price. Then again, is that the mission of the halo LC when they've got so many other mainstream models?
Really hope that the 300-series LC will come to the states even if I'm more into the Lexified models. It makes both versions better when there's more combined enthusiasm for aftermarket support.

All of your posts scream, "I don't have an LX so I hate them. I don't have a 300 so I hate it." Its ok to admit that there is another hot girl other than yours.Agreed.
