You can always negotiate adding platinum warranty extension on to cover any perceived risk over losing the months in demo… just saying.

Yeah I guess I could ask, but I already beat them down pretty hard to get to $94.5. Then I said I need more time to think about it and walked out.

There were other customers looking at it too. I don’t think I have much leverage at this point to negotiate further.

Well they came down to $94k. I told them the best I would do is $93k. I’d still be paying 4K over sticker but at that price I might bite.

I'm surprised to hear of one that cheap at a dealer.

How many of these went to lease and might pop up in three years I wonder?

I'm shocked they came down that much. The market must be tapped out.😁

Yeah I didn’t expect they’d come down that much.

On one hand I’m tempted to buy it since it’s less than comparable HE’s on the market. On the other hand I’d be paying a few thousand dollar markup over MSRP for a used vehicle with 8k miles.

Well I didn’t expect this, but the dealer called today and said they’ll accept $93K.

It’s a ‘21 HE midnight black. Dealer demo with 8k miles. The Carfax is clean and visually everything looks good - exterior, interior, engine bay, undercarriage. I took it for a two mile test drive and it felt fine. Anything else I should check?

What do you guys think? I’m leaning towards buying but still on the fence.

For an HE in this market I'd consider that a decent price. I am seeing dealers with 2019/20 base models with more miles asking more than that.

Well that bursts my bubble. I thought I was going to sell my '20 HE with 15,000 miles for $150k! j/k

In all seriousness, I refuse to pay a mark up for any vehicle, much less a used one. Patience is your friend - especially in this market.

Market insanity aside, i wouldn't buy in right now.

I would personally wait for LXs coming off lease in the next few years. That is if you don't mind having an LX.
I dont think anyone with an LC will give it up despite gas prices. And we know its the last well get. HEs especially will only appreciate.
The demographic buying these has no need to sell and is not facing any economic hardship whatsoever.

Thanks for the replies.

I also don’t like paying a markup. Though my justification on this one is that a $3k markup is decent to get one of the few remaining HE’s with low mileage available.

If you guys are correct that HE’s will only appreciate (which I can see happening), then I feel like being patient and waiting means I probably won’t find another decently priced HE unless it has higher mileage.

If I’m not making sense, please slap some sense into me. My wife has accepted that I’m crazy for thinking about buying another LC.

Nemal512 - I can’t bring myself to buy an LX. Just can’t get past the grill.

My thought is that considering it's an HE with low miles and dealer owned it's likely one of the better deals you'll see on an HE anytime soon. I don't pay markups either, but if that's the one you want you are extremely limited seeing how they don't exist new anymore. If you want it then go for it and forget about those few extra bucks, especially if it's for the long haul.

If you want a land Cruiser buy it. I paid $92.4k out the door in August this year for a 2020 with under 10k miles. It was with original dealer, who put 4k miles on it, until last April. Buyer added safari snorkel and stage 1 Icon suspension and stupid candy red Fuel wheels (it also came with stock wheels which went back on asap). After 2 payments, rounding up from $1600 to $2000 each, I'm below MSRP. I got 2.04% financing and am happy with the purchase. I'll likely keep the truck 40 years. Similar to my FJ62 which I got new.

I agree with you. I think the Lexus grille is hands down the absolute ugliest in the industry. I can't believe they've tripled down on the LX600.

I bought mine in February for 87k and I've been tempted to sell it (assuming I can get what people are asking). I just can't see what I would replace it with. If there was a viable alternative that would be one thing, but I always wanted a LC, was excited to get a HE in the last model year, and don't think the extra 20-30k would be worth not having my dream car. It's definitely hard to pass up though - never thought I'd make money (let alone make a lot of money) on a new car purchase.

I don’t think it’s as bad as y’all but you definitely hold the popular opinion. I wrote a lot about it in the lx 600 thread on the 300 forum and despite them pulling it off poorly, and me not minding it I still agree.

I can’t believe they emphasized the one design feature everyone hated the most in the LX.

They also ruined the side profile front and rear quarter panels.

Woof.

$78k in June 2020 for my 2020 with 6 miles on it.

Nice! That was the best time to jump in. Same thing I did.

I stole my LX :)
I would share the price I paid but it would upset some people.

If you financed those were the best rates too.
