Turned out great! Do you carry chains?
Yes, Diamond style.

For the folks looking at tire chains I picked these bags up from Last US Bag. My original bags had seen better days. Last US Bag is based out of Vancouver WA and make all there bags here in Washington State.

I picked up the LUSB 097 and 0147 to store my chains.

Bent up the tank bracket for my OBA system. Figured if I had to install the manifold for lockers I might as well install a tank. Located in the spare tire area using the factory bumper bolts. The bracket is debured and ready for powder coating.

I have a small 1.5 gal tank I've been want to install for years and have never got around to it.
How many gallons/liters is that tank?
What is the outside diameter of that tank? I'd like to compare it to mine and see if mine can work in the same location.
Does it hang down at all below your bumper?

Thursday night after I departed work @12:30 AM. I was accelerating onto the freeway when out of the blue the GX lost power then died. I coasted to a stop on the Gore point of the freeway and an exit. Tried to restart but to no avail. Engine would turn over but wouldn’t fire. Clearly no fuel was getting to the engine. I contacted a towing company and was finally picked up around 3:00 am and towed to the dealership. I was very confident that it was the fuel pump.

Saturday the dealership confirmed my suspicions, the fuel pump had high resistance and no fuel pressure. Bad pump.

The service writer told me they looked hard at my mods to see if it was owner induced (aka can we lay blame elsewhere). They (unfortunately for them) couldn’t find issues with my work and will be replacing the fuel pump under warranty, which I am very close to being out of @ 45,500 miles and just under 4 years old, build month of April 2018.

I asked about the recall on fuel pumps and my VIN did not qualify, but the service writer stated if this trends in the fleet that Toyota could expand the recall to the MY 2018.

Once I get the vehicle back I’ll write a separate post to make a broader group of folks aware.

Does anyone know if Lexus will reimburse for towing expenses for repairs covered under warranty? Yes I have towing insurance with my auto policy and AAA but would like to place expense of the issue on the manufacture if possible.

My fuel pump issue turned out to be a rodent issue. Unfortunately not covered by warranty. On the 14+ GX the fuel system computer is attached to the frame just aft of the rear axle. A perfect place for a mouse to sit and chew on the wires. When the truck died on the freeway I was very confident it was a fuel pump issue. Initially the dealer thought it was too. Once they pulled the pump and bench tested it and it was good they went back to looking and found the wires chewed up. Fortunately this happened on the freeway and not BFE. The dealer was able to remove the damaged wire and splice it.

After discussing this with the actual tech working the issue he suggested tape with capsaicin impregnated in it. I found this Honda tape with the capsaicin in it.

Wrapped the fuel computer wiring with the Honda capsaicin rodent tape. Placed three mouse traps in the driveway and caught three the first night, winning!!

After installing the Victory modified bumper and my winch the front suspension was sagging a bit. Last weekend I adjusted the Radflos and had the GX aligned today. Rolling smooth now.

Is that a 12 VDC socket in the top picture?
If so, great idea! Hummm, maybe need to add one of them on mine?

Yep! It is a NOCO dual battery charger. 5 amp charger that keeps the AGM batteries topped up. Best thing is the night before a trip I can load my fridge up and not draw the battery down.

Completed the air system. The compressor is mounted in the aft storage area on a custom bracket that can be seen elsewhere in the thread. Air line runs through a factory grommet to the ARB manifold on to the ARB air tank then to Witts End air chuck. I’ll probably replace the brass fittings on the tank with stainless. I had corrosion issues with the Witts End pacifier in the brass air chuck. Witts End is sending a new pacifier made of Delrin. The brass tank fittings was all I could get locally. I bent up the brackets out of 1/8” aluminum and powder coated them. Very satisfied with the outcome. Now I’ll I need is the lockers and gears…. Slow boats from South Korea and Australia.

Where is that tank under your rig? Looks really good, but can you do a couple of pull back photos to get a reference of where the tank is and what we're looking at?

That looks to be up against the rear bumper where a trailer hitch would normally reside.

That's where I'm thinking of mounting that SCUBA tank I just acquired, somewhere in the spare tire cavity.
