New heavy duty LCA’s. Thanks @2fpower for welding these up.

Another favor to ask: does anyone have a fishing scale I could borrow to set the preload on my wheel bearings (or somewhere local to buy a cheap but accurate one)? I've set them by feel but would be more comfortable with some quantitative validation.

Aside from that, the axle rebuild is complete and that's the last big job to baseline aside from flushing the brake fluid and power steering fluid. Then I'll just be practicing self-control to hold off on buying a lift and bumpers.

I've got a scale you can borrow. But, for what it's worth I bought it and still go by feel. Never could get the scale to make sense to me.

Ha, I appreciate the offer. I finally found one but did the same as you and just went by feel.

I know this isn’t the intended thread for this but is anyone interested in going to Kansas Rocks on Sunday morning? A Jeep buddy of mine mentioned going and I figured I need to test out my lockers at some point

I set mine all to 20ft lbs. When I tried to do the actual scale method they always ended up too loose to deal with the larger tires. They would need re-adjusted after a few months.

Dipped the girlfriend’s Subaru wheels this weekend. I’m really impressed and planning to do the 80 next. The nozzle on the rattle can popped out of BOTH cans we tried first without realizing it so we had to peel off and start over. I ended up using my HVLP paint gun and it worked perfectly. I’m debating between black and “graphite”

Working on planning a trip East. If anyone is interested, you are welcome to join us.

@2fpower Coming to NC

Managed to install the OME 2.5” lift. It definitely did not take the average 2 hours that people reported. 6 hours and a bashed knuckle later, and the springs and shocks are complete. I still need to do the steering stabilizer and castor correction bushings. Does anyone have torque specs off hand for the lower and upper (rear only) shock bolts?
