Finished up Mitch's rack and hit with muriatic acid to dissolve the mill scale. Only thing left is to hit with POR15 when it rusts up a tiny bit more then top coat.

Looking good!

Bending is fun. Here's what I did this weekend with help from friends bender.

Looks fantastic @milemarker60 !

What mounts did you use?

I have decided to keep mine for now. It is easy enough to take on and off so mostly use it when I go to Colorado or other road trips.

I may have to paint or plasti dip mine black though because Mitch's looks great with the black finish.

Great work!

We sourced the mounts from Trail Tailer...$20ea. Could've cut and bent with a sledge/press and vice/rail track I've got but didn't think I'd be able to replicate 6 exact copies plus had nothing in hand to copy.

Looks great! Really nice execution. Do you notice any more wind noise?

I use the same pair of steel toe safety gear!!

I have not been allowed to drive the rig. Installed Thurs and Mitch claims no noise. I've made an aluminum air dam for the front but he doesn't seem to think it's necessary.

He has steel toed asbestos socks on foo. Glad I didn't post any pics of me welding.

So this morning when I went to leave work I had to keep jiggling the key in the ignition to get it to turn. Didn't think I was ever going to get it start. Called Olathe Toyota to see what was needed for a key cut from the VIN. Need registration and ID. Went out and had one cut.

It is amazing because when you look at it is drastically different then my current but the new key works fantastic and even unlocks my driver door that I haven't been able to use a key on for over a year.

Best $8.63 (with TAC discount) I have spent in awhile.

Got this in the mail from @bhicks and installed it. Told the wife it was for her since it is mounted on the passenger side.

Great looking product/color match and the Nalgene bottles and my Hydroflask fit it with the black part removed.

Not a pic by pic of the process, but finally got my tired springs updated. OME 2850J's up front and 2863's in the rear. Seems to have taken care of most of my cruiser lean!

@FZJ80 in KC I cant remember if I asked, but what shocks did you end up getting to match your springs ?

I didn't replace the shocks yet. My PO had just put ironman's on when I bought it about 3 years ago, so even though a couple of them have some pits and dings from wheeling, they are holding up pretty well so far.

Will probably still replace this year with the Fox 2.0's valved for the 80's (from Downsouth Motor Sports).

We just installed the J's on Mitch's rig as well matched up with the L shocks last week. We have now swapped all four of the Originally upgraded OME springs and front OME Shocks for different ones in search of the magic combo. As of now, I think we are totally satisfied with the 850J/863 Combo with the Shortbus/winch up front and 4x4 Labs hanging off the back. We simulated 250lbs in the rear and an additional 50lbs up front and are .25" higher in back on the left and level on the right. Went ahead and fab'd some 1.5" sway bar drop blocks up front and 1.5" spacers for F&R bump stops. Previously extended the brake lines and have zero issues with front d/s so double cardan not on our list for now. Gotta extend all the breathers and ad the second batt before the AR trip but that should finish him up for now.
