I'm liking the refresh but can I justify $30-40k over trade in for it since what I want is the LED lights, vented seats, and the 8 speed.
I already have the upgraded brakes.
My mom has the metallic white on an RX and I do not like it at all.

kreiten thanks so much for your opinion the plastic stuff this what made me go to the LX back in 2013 I really did not like the plastic; hey did they upgrade the door grab handles??

The door grab handles appeared and felt exactly the same to me...

Still no black headliner option on the LX and I'm sure many will be disappointed that the 21" wheel option isn't available in the US
Edit:
The wheels are on the site , just can't build it with the larger wheels. I was just playing to try to make it as expensive as possible.

2016 LC PROBLEMS! First Yes I think the 2016 looks great, a modern look that I feel like gives it an updated look. But am I the only one that is concerned with Toyota Safety Sense?? First of all there are many semi-trucks that have the same sort of technology, and every time a car cuts them off the brakes lock up.. In my opinion 2015 may be the last year of where good technology ends and the bad technology starts. (Hopefully there is an easy way to completely deactivate TSS (Toyota Safety Sense) If not, this should be a big concern for everyone looking to buy a 2016 plus LC. As Toyota wants to bring in their technology eventually to every Toyota.. So the 2016 LC USA does not come with the option to NOT get the safety sense (that's right, it is automatically standard at least in the US Market) So that means every time a car cuts you off, a pedestrian gets too close to the front of your car, your brakes will automatically lock up.. Sure would make it an easy way for a bad guy to carjack you.. A bigger accident caused because of your brakes locking up... I don't know about you but I am perfectly fine driving the vehicle by myself, I have avoided more accidents then I can count... I want control of my vehicle... If a bad guy is running at my car trying to shoot me, I want the option to be able to run his ass over; not have my brakes lock up... Now if it is easy to deactivate and remove the TSS then I would love a 16, oh wait, they stopped selling tan interior at least for 16' model year.. NM...

Rumor has it the TSS may have chips/computers in the brake pads, and the actual mechanism (brain) that controls brakes... Not to mention how easy would a laser beam or something of the sort, be able to make a NEW LC come to a stop? Or be vulnerable to hacking via remote; even into the computer and send the signal to tell it to stop... Note: that new TSS is the main reason the cost went up to 85k (they say its about $2500 additional for that package. pre-equipped.. )

What are your thoughts on TOYOTA DUMB SENSE?
Anyone seen the wiring schematics/hardware involved in TSS?

Am I the only one concerned about this?

Yes I analyze everything... Some call it critical thinking.. I call it common sense.. If you want to talk about the 2016 LC you need to get to the heart of the matter :)

Let's go..

The 2016 LC manual is available for download on Toyota's website. I imagine the question can be answered about turning off TSS there.

Rumor has it the TSS may have chips/computers in the brake pads, and the actual mechanism (brain) that controls brakes.

Not a chance. Just like traction control and ABS, the brake controller will be centralized. There will be the abs sensor at the wheel, but that's it.

honda does have the chips in the pads; not sure of toyota but my big concern is the cost of replacement pads and rotors etc. I would much have a central type system and have regular brakes etc.
with all the news of SUPER TOYOTA out in the middle east with the terroists i don't think toyota is gonna put the sensors into the pads. I believe it will be central system also and simply have a connection to the camera etc in the front end.

anyone got the manual for the 2016???

2016 LC PROBLEMS!

What are your thoughts on TOYOTA DUMB SENSE?
.

Why not just get a 2015, no New safety system, cheaper than a 2016 and no need for Sci-Fi scenarios. Problem solved. You're welcome!

08-11. Even less tech.
