I was invited to go see the 2016 TLC 200 and 2016 LX 570 next week here in Dubai. I will try my best to get some pictures from under the vehicle to see what updates there are. As far as the "safety" stuff is mostly items that are already developed and being borrowed from the Lexus line of vehicles. The forward radar, lane change, auto brite/low beams, and blind spot warning I have on my Lexus RC.

If you can try to focus on the Land Cruiser interior; primary the door handle. If it is the same plastics quality as in the 2013 thru 15 years then that will answer lots of speculation. As for the LX. Just see if the nose/ grill is as bad as we believe. Obviously if you have been invited to see them you must have some sort of clout with Toyota; please ask why the Land Cruiser does not get the same quality materials as the LX

Wrong thread. Ugh. Won't delete picture

Agreed.

I don't want to hijack the thread but I went in for a test drive of a 2015 last night and came home with a new truck- so much for my patience :D. I found one locally in a color combo I like (gray/ black) for a great price. I quickly fell back in love with the power, command and and silky smoothness of my 2000. They valued my trade at $500 more than I was expecting and matched my credit unions super low financing rate. I really couldn't say no after that and the screen in your face was already prying my good intentions away from the 2016. Looks like I'll be monitoring this 2016 situation from afar.

This dealership offers a lifetime powertrain warranty ($300 deductible after 5 years). They tried to sell me a lifetime bumper to bumper for $2400 which I declined. I don't buy extended warranties on much, but the "lifetime" part is kind of sticking with me. It sounds very reassuring I guess but this is a Land Cruiser that's been out for a long time and I still have the option of a Toyota extended at any time in the next few years. I'm taking my chances but they did get a hook or two into me with that.

Smart move!! Very cool lifetime power train warranty ;). If your that guy that would keep your rig for 4-500k miles the bumper to bumper lifetime warranty would be a good deal.

That looks very much the color of my old 1999 100.

Love all these real word pics and the side-by-side comparison (I was looking for one). Even the color is the same. The 2016 looks more massive although it's likely an illusion. The wide angle lens is probably stretching objects on the side of the frame making them appear wider than the one in the center.

That's it! They really need to bring the 70s in now! Those things are nice but the focus here is very clear, luxury! We all love the LC line up for many features but most of us got to them due to the roughness combined with the abillities and that's going out the window quick. Yes, they are still very capable but the nostalgia was thrown away. :(

thanks again GX-R love all the pics!!! Really disappointed that we can't get anything here in the USA to even see in person.

As for the previous comment about them going luxury only; I could not disagree more!!! if anything Toyota needs to step it up with the Land Cruiser and make if much MORE luxury! the LX is defiantly going down the path of luxury mall cruiser; but the Land Cruiser looks likes its keeping its roots. I said before give me a 80 series with 50,000 airbags and a Rolls royce interior and I will be happy. I currently have a LX470 and just let a LX570 go. I am gonna start pestering the Toyota dealership near me.
