LOVE the new LX grille. Cant wait to see the red interior in person.

Does that Cherry Hill LX have no roof rack? Looks very smooth up top

Hope that TECH's laptop on the hood of that LX doesn't leave a mark

guy at dealership was like be careful the customer is like SUPER wierd and meticulous etc
Haha that's why the tech is leaning on it and has the laptop on the hood

I think TRD should do a useless lowered supercharged cruiser with a low body kit and spoilers...

If they want an offroad cruiser they can just simply bring in the toyota autobody rally one as is and it would be a million times better

hello all sorry I could not take more pics I was actually not SUPPOSE to be back there :) yes its funny with the tech leaning on it but I believe the laptop has a par underneath it.

No roof racks for the LX's they are NOT coming with a roof rack; they have this slim line on the roof now; I believe this is cause of parking garages now etc

Now also the NOSE IS BIG; that AHC better go up really high so you don't scrap the crap out of that thing. I have not seen the Land Cruiser yet but I really liked the 2013 thru 2015 model nose just wish they put in the LX interior into the Land cruiser. Got to check out the 2nd row seats Very nice leather and the perforation stuff for the cooling etc 3rd row seems the same as old model.

forgot to add this the D pillar (last one by tail gate) has that crome things which I thought was funny to try to differ fromLand Cruiser or something. If you look close you can see the same D pillar that the Land Cruiser has its just a fancy trim piece

My pic does not give that now justice; I would love to open the hood and take a look under there. its probably all covered up with those plastic trim etc but the question I have is it all just FLUFF? meaning design stuff? it has to stick out a lot. hey anyone know what the total length of the new Land Cruiser is and compare it to the LX?

Off Lexus site:

Length: 5065mm
Width: 1956mm
Height: 1910mm
Wheelbase: 2850mm

you guys notice any reason for the rear spoiler thingy? I know on my 15' i'm not sure what it's for. It certainly does not deflect road debris or rain as it gathers pretty bad on the rear door/glass. Is it to keep the rear planted when i get the truck over 100mph?

Built in screens are pointless in a vehicle these days. Your kids have tablets. Provide a wifi connection like GM, some USB ports for power, and they're all set.

And in three years when the tech is outdated, go buy them a new tablet for another $300.

So every time ones kids get into the car, u have to distribute 2 to 4 ipads depending on the # of kids one has, then set them up and connect to the system. That is more convenient vs having system ready to go?

Yes

I have 4 of varying ages and they all have their own preferences and ways to be entertained. Books, e-readers, phones, dolls, iPads, you name it

No reason for 1 size to fit all , as in the case of a built in system

roof rack isn't an option even on the LX?

Styling and maybe it reduces aerodynamic drag a bit, thus improving mileage slightly.

I also believe that it protects the third tail light (the one on the top of the car) On our 100 series, her's was broken when she parked it in a bad part of Providence:eek:! Shortly after this incident, something fell on her top tail light and, it shattered (surprisingly, there was no body damage!)

Your kids don't already carry devices in their backpack? They can't figure out how to plugin a USB cord? That movie that they were watching on their iPad at home, before you left, now they want to watch on the ride. But you think it would be more convenient to go look for the DVD of that movie (if you even have it), carry it with you to the car, insert it into the dash, than it would be for the kid to just carry their iPad with them to the car?

I come to this website to talk LC/LX and be away from my kids. Can we get back to LC/LX discussion?

My local dealer is getting his first LX today. I am going to test drive it tomorrow, as I heard really good things abou the HUD

Also dealer confirmed LX has roof rack, it is just a more streamlined version, with no cross bars.

Cool box is not standard. $200 option

while we are on the subject... i think the "system" in the 200 is behind in technology. The touch screen feels cheap. Why not use a device like an iPad or something that has major computing power?! I mean, they exist so why not use something like it. I have already noticed three times that the maps are out of date and it can't find an address when my iPhone found it in 2 seconds.

when i get in the truck, my phone likes to connect via blue tooth, but, the sound quality of playing music that way absolutely sucks! It's amateur. If i have my phone plugged in through the USB cable, the sound is amazing, but you might as well flip a coin when you get back into the truck if it will reconnect or if it will say audio system is off... what is up with that?!!

I don't care if someone wants to check a box and pay an extra $2k for a rear seat entertainment package, that's their choice. But I wish Toyota would at least give people the option to leave that box empty. They have made "everything" standard, and in the process have incrementally priced this vehicle out of reach for many people.

Many will need to wait and purchase on the used market. Or if they do buy new, they may keep it for 10-15 years. This highlights the technology problem even further. Who wants a 10 year old GPS navigation system that no longer receives map updates?

Oh, and you can't change install an aftermarket unit because the climate controls are integrated too...:bang:
