I definitely DON'T like that start stop stuff technologically! That I do know can be disabled!

We have that in our BMW (F10 5 Series) and, yeah, I find it annoying at first but, in situations where you are in gridlock traffic for hours (blizzard conditions) and, only moving a few meters every hour, it is more beneficial then having to turn off the engine and, wait for traffic to move (or have car run out of gas).

Again, if you don't like it it can be disabled. On my father's particular car, the start stop technology is turned off in Sport + mode and, otherwise, there is also a button right bellow the master ignition where you can disable it too!

I saw a little while back the Land Cruiser has different driving modes so, this could be another way to change it!

I would be very surprised if the auto brake system was on by default unless it is going to be mandated by the gov. My wife's Infiniti (who has offered this system for years) has it off by default. It beeps at you to get your attention but doesn't throw out the anchor until you arm the brakes. I'm sure glad it is setup this way because I set it off at least once every time I drive it. Once armed there is an electric brake booster that kicks. I know this because the brake pedal is A LOT more sensitive when the system is on. I realize every vehicle much less manufacturer is different but hopefully it will be setup the same way...

Oops I was talking about the wrong thing. I thought we were talking about start stop technology(at red lights, a car would shut off to save fuel and, restart when you release the brake) and not auto emergency braking.

I just read online how 10 companies have plans to standardize them and, it's only a matter of time before this feature gets implimented on all cars (just like airbags!) by US Gov Legislation!

I also just realized, if implemented, this would be another reason why the US spec Land Cruiser would cost would rise and, why we can't have a 70 Series overseas!

I don't think it requires much added cost at all. The 200 already has radar cruise control, so it already has the sensors that it needs. It already has spin protection and ABS, so the computer can already control the brakes. The only necessary addition is the logic to determine when a crash may be imminent and to then start braking.

Yes, that logic isn't simple or easy, but I'd bet that Toyota is buying the system from a supplier. It cost a ton to develop initially, but once that cost is paid, if the car already has radar cruise control then the added cost is minimal. And radar cruise control is now available on Camrys, so the cost of the sensor has clearly dropped greatly as it has gone into mass production.

To me this does not look right! What is everyone opinion? 2 different interior trim on the new LX. The white just does not look right to new shouldn't the door jam match? Or am I just crazy? It's looks cheap and aftermarket??? Anyone else have opinion on a 100k car?

Looked at 2016 today and have noticed seat material is softer, smells more synthetic and feels like a fake leather. If you look at stitches on photo underside of it is synthetic. Also backs of 2nd and 3rd rows are all synthetic padding instead of leather. Overall good improvements but fake leather and front in person isn't that good. Msrp 2-3k up from 15?

From what I have researched I think the biggest difference with the 8 speed vs/ 6 speed MPG you will find is when towing at highway speeds... As LC (15' and older) has been known to rev high (while towing at highway speeds) Especially by people in the outback matte kangaroo style :)

I have not seen in person yet but I'm kind of bummed. Toyota spent a lot of time and effort for this but still using crappy materials??? They can get away with it in Japan (very little competition) but over here; if you are in that price category 100k example escalade/ rover/ Mercedes) you have to use TOP NOTCH materials! Don't start hating me for comparing theses vehicles; I'm just stating in order to PICK UP sales you can't do this. I had an Uber ride in NYC a few days ago and it was a brand new escalade and the interior was very nice! I would not buy one but if Lexus and Toyota want to sway some of those customers this is not gonna cut it!

Yes yes I know they suck and escalade won't last past one month lol but what I'm trying to point out is that all these vehicles are in the big SUV market and to boost sales they have to pick up their game. All of us here love our LC/LX but we need sales to go up in order for Toyota to keep bringing them here

Absolutely love it

Blood red interiors are good enough for Aston and Ferrari so good enough for me

The red interior on rc-f cost 85k and looks stunning

I am glad lx570 finally did this as other Lexus products have it

I would love either white wig full red or the dark blue with full red

New Gs-f comes exterior orange even

Good job Lexus !!

Even the tough as nails defender used to have a monthly breakdown. All i can say is **** that s***. In 2 months time my cruiser is going to have completed 3.5 years of ownership... And not one single dealership visit over warranty, 160k kms just regular maintenance.
