Hmm price increase...well we are noticing around 5000$ rebate from private LC200 (2013) dealers in the kingdom due to YEN-2-$ devaluation...not yet heard about the new 2014 models..

I'm guessing we won't see many other changes to the 200 series for the remainder of it's run? proly see the 300 series in 2017ish?

I suppose the color choices will be the same also?

Thanks,
Chuck

my guess would be nothing will change until the 300 comes out in 2 or 3 years... just a complete guess:)

with diesel becoming more acceptable here in the use you think maybe they bring the diesel 200???

No.

I would not buy a diesel LC. Toyota got it right with the 5.7, it should not be discontinued.

Toyota would need to put so much smog equipment to get it to pass California smog laws. Plus it would require UREA in the exhaust and who in there right mind wants to fill up that stuff all the time.

most of our fleet at work are the new Hino's which require the DEF fluid, it's kind of a pain in the ass to top off all the time!!!

As for the next gen LC and when we could see it, here is a guess..

If you exclude the 50 series , each new big LC was launched approximately 9 years after its predecessor ( In Japan ) ( 60 - 80 - 100 - 200 )

60 series = 1980/ 8/29

80 series = 1989/10/16

100 series = 1998/ 1/19

( I think i once read the LX 470 was shown at a motor show in December 1997 )

200 series = 2007/ 9/18 ( LX 570 was unveiled in April '07 at the NY MOTORSHOW )

...

After looking at the dates, my guess is that the next LC will be unveiled sometime in 2016 as a 2017 model...

looks about right to me, funny thing is the final design on the 300 has more than likely already been approved... the 100 series development began in 1992 and was approved in mid 1994... In 2002 a 5 year development plan was started on the 200 series and by 2004 a final production design was settled on, then 2 years of testing etc... so yah, I'm guessing the 300 is well under way, we'll proly see something in the next couple years...

I remember we saw spy shots of a 200 test mule in early '06..it looked like it had the sides of a 200, front end of a GX470 and rear of a 06/07 100...
Around September '06 the first pictures of the final version of the LC were released..
I think the final design was approved in 2004 .

The test vehicle from 06 actually had crawl control, rear + center diff lock and AHC .

I have never seen a 200 that combined all these options together.. ( i prefer mechanical KDSS over electronic AHC and electronic KDSS )
The full option PRADO 150 does come with all these options ( AHC ( only for the rear ) + electronic KDSS / REAR + CENTER DIFFLOCKS AND CRAWL )

^^^ I remember that well, seeing those first shots of the test mule I knew that would be my next rig... with that timeline we could be seeing test mules shots of the 300 sometime in the next year or so...
