In fairness most people might not even notice. It depends on the amount of humidity you get but I would only notice my windows fogging up a bit when it was warm and rainy here

Looks like a great possibility! Claimed compatibility with Synthesis. Requires that JBL amp is still present and functioning. Appears to be a MOST device and able to get low level full signal.

Edit -> I don't see compatibility for TLC or LX in the charts, but might have missed it - maybe could work directly with PAC on a hard wire solution or doing some repinning.

The "Toyota Advanced Amplifier Integration" does show the 2008 LC under it's application tab. I know there were some changes to the audio system early in the 200 series lifecycle (SAT radio antenna connection moved from under Pass seat to behind head unit, added BT audio, added USB, etc) so I don't know if it would still be applicable.

Been reading the forum for the last two months.

Just purchased my first LC. Had a Acura RL in high school, Toyota Sequoia in college and now finally had the funds to get the dream car the Toyota Land Cruiser. Black 2013 Toyota Land Crusier with 100k miles on it. I plan on keeping it until my 40’s come.

Glad to join the family and wonderful LC community.

My whole life I have had after market audio equipment in my cars because my older brothers and cousins always had them and did competitions at Audio King and Best Buy back in the days.

I’ve been researching a ton of threads such as the “adding factory subwoofer” and all the other good informative stuff by guys like Grinchy, Murkman, TomCruis etc.

I know the issues and how hard it is to incorporate the stock JBL system with aftermarket amps and subs.

My first plan was just do get the LC2I Pro Line Out Converter and transfer my old mono 1200 Kicker Amp and L7 15 to the LC. I know this is very possible since many people have already done so.

After driving the LC for a month, I realized that the speakers are decent but nothing special.

My question to all the brothers who have already gone down this road before me, is this set up possible?

1) LC7I which is the 6 channel Audio Control Line out converter.

2) Aftermarket 4 channel amp with two new speakers in the corner dash and 2 new speakers in the tail gate. Since these locations offer full range signals: Highs, mids, and lows.

3) Mono 1200W amp with the L7 15 subwoofer.

This would all stay with the stock head unit of course.

Thanks and I await your comments, wisdoms and replies before I go on this journey of upgrading my dream car.

I’ve had an email exchange with Michael and he said this head unit will control All climate controls, etc. and will ship to the USA. Only feature that will have to go is the Rear DVD controls from what I understood. The $2,400 price tag is AUD, US equivalent yesterday is about $1,780. Changing out all 13 speakers. Putting in sub with mono amp and LC2i pro line out converter. Will post pics when done.

New audio equipment getting installed next Monday.

Changing out all 13 speakers, adding in Mono Amp and 15 inch Solo Baric L7 Kicker Subwoofer.

- 1 JBL 421F Going into Center Dash. They are 30 RMS and 90 Sensitivity.

- 2 Alpine S-S40 going into the Dash Corners. They are 40 RMS and 88 Sensitivity

- 4 Alpine S-S65c going into Front Door components 6x9 and front pillar tweeters. They are 80 RMS and 88 Sensitivity.

- 4 Pioneer TS-A1300c going into Rear Door Components. They are 50 RMS and 88 sensitivity.

- 2 Infinity Reference 4032cfx going into the tail gate. They are 35 RMS and 93 sensitivity.

Using a LC2i Pro Audio Control Line Out converter to grab the factory subwoofer signal and feed it to a Kicker Cxa 1200.1 RMS Mono Amp to power my 1000 RMS Kicker L7 15 Square Solo Baric Subwoofer.

Spent about $700 for all the 13 speakers, harness, wiring, and the LC2i Pro from Crutchfield. All speakers will be a direct fit.

I already have the subwoofer and mono amp from previous vehicle. Those if bought would be $1k. So that’s saved.

Getting everything installed on Monday at a professional shop been going to for years since high school. They are gonna charge me $1K labor for two days of install and tuning. So dropping off Monday morning, pick up Tuesday afternoon.

Will post final pics and hopefully sound clips when everything is completed.

Swapped out all 13 factory speakers

- 1 JBL 421F Going into Center Dash. They are 30 RMS and 91 Sensitivity 3 ohm.

- 2 Alpine S-S40 didn’t fit into the Dash Corners so I put some Infinity Reference 3032cfx
with 25 RMS and 92 Sensitivity 3 ohm.

- 4 Alpine S-S65c going into Front Door components 6x9 and front pillar tweeters. They are 80 RMS and 88 Sensitivity. 4 ohms

- 4 Pioneer TS-A1300c going into Rear Door Components. They are 50 RMS and 88 sensitivity. 4 ohms

- 2 Infinity Reference 4032cfx going into the tail gate. They are 35 RMS and 93 sensitivity.

Highs, mids, all running off the factory OEM JBL 605 watt amp.

Sounds amazing.

You said they’d be tuning the system.. I’m a total layman. What’s involved in that? Decibel measurement at different tone frequencies and adjust an EQ? Or just play different kinds of music and adjust things by ear?

They just tuned my LC2i pro and mono amp so that’s there’s no disturbance and bass roll off with my subwoofer and that there’s no distortion or clipping.

So I’m only running about 25% power on my amp right now for my sun and it hits hard and clean.

Speakers and everything else is still running on Jbl Synthesis amp and head unit controls

Selling my 13 OEM JBL Premium Synthesis LC200 Speakers

$300 total for all 13 speakers

$20 each for the 3 dash speakers and 2 tail gate speakers.

$40 each for the front 6x9 and rear 6 inch speakers

$10 each for the 4 tweeters.

They are all still in perfect working order.

Has anyone held onto their fully functional OEM head unit? I have a 2011 land cruiser with rear seat dvd and have a couple buttons that are acting up. Looking for options for refurbishing or purchasing used if possible.

Do you think it is worth it to just replace the speakers and power them using the factory amp? I'm inclined to just replace the front speakers and see if I can get better sound definition. I'm intrigued at the idea of no modification and easy swap.

I think it’s worth it but I’m really into audio.

Most people love the stock system.

Is the 2011 and 2013 systems the same? How did it all sound before tuning the amp?
