I put Philips 9011s in my 13 LC about a year ago, one side burned out after about 6 months so I put OEM back. The ones in my 04 LC are still going strong at almost 4 years.

This has me wondering if they changed something about how or where they are produced.
My DRLs were disabled before I left the dealer lot I purchased my rig from.

I turned my DRL's off a long time ago, and my 9011's are still going strong. Can't say that cause and effect, or just a coincidence; but it wouldn't hurt bulb life to turn off the DRL's.
As a note, I run with my parking lights on all the time. Better for visibility than DRL's because the taillights are also lit when the parking lights are on (whereas they are off when just the DRL's are on) - better visibility for those following.
