4 weeks into LX570 ownership and my alternator has gone. Honeymoon is over.

I'll get one ordered & will replace it... along with the battery. Are there any "while I'm in there" parts to do? I have no records of the water pump being done, and it's a 139k car.

School me people.

You can do the alternator without pulling the radiator.

Pulling the radiator will make it easier, as you'll have more room. If you go down that route, waterpump, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, thermostat, would all be reasonable to consider.

Is the water pump on a dead set replacement schedule like the 100 series?

The water pump is very robust. Many folks will change it around 100k miles or thereabouts. Mine was weeping through the weeping hole, enough that I wanted to replace it. I have subsequently learned that the weeping hole functions to enable "leaked" coolant as a means of removing minor solid contaminants that get stuck.

If it isn't making funny sounds or leaking profusely, you probably don't "need" to change it.

The alternator can be replaced without removing the radiator, but access is difficult and removal from the front/bottom is very tight. @TeCKis300 wrote a thread with photos that I found very helpful.
