Hey community!

My father in law has a 2011 cruiser that has a radio issue. Right before they drove to see us in Austin from Missouri his radio stopped turning on. When I choose audio from the left side menu it says audio off and pressing the volume button does not turn it back on.

The navigation and air controls all work fine! I’ve also checked every fuse under the hood and driver and passenger side that have anything to do with the audio.

Before I try to find a new radio/CD player part of the head unit I wanted to call on the collective wisdom of the community to see if you all had any suggestions.

Thank you all so much for the help!!!

following this thread because I have a 2011 LC with 2 buttons on the head unit that are dead. I can manage without them but it is quite annoying. I searched for an OEM replacement and the prices were astronomical. Hoping that I can get the courage up to go with one of the aftermarket screens with apple carplay but I’m too nervous since it seems they all come from China and have bugs and kinks

Exact thing just happened to my 2011 LC too. Lots of research so far, but no answers. I did go into the diagnostics and see that the RSE is non connected.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue.
The radio issues are usually attributed to water ingress, whether in the passenger or driver side kick panel depending on if it's sunroof or windshield cowl.

I'm currently helping a friend with their 200 with the same issue. I noticed corrosion in the fuse box on the driver's side. Anyone solve the issue? I have checked the fuses and found nothing. I am ready to either pull the radio or start digging under the steering wheel. If anyone has solved this, it might save me from looking in the wrong place first. If no one has any direction, I'll probably start at the radio to check power there then work my way back. If I do have power at the unit, then it's likely the unit itself.

As a note: in contrast to the image above which has says NCON next to 3: RSE, I'm getting it next to 1: AUDIO.

Thank you for your help.

I sent out the amp and cd/dvd radio unit to a guy in upstate NY this morning. The amp fan was running but he said send it anyway. He asked me over the phone to unplug the dvd player in the ceiling and see if that solved the issue, it didn’t. We will see in a couple weeks if he can diagnose and repair the unit. I will keep this thread updated.

I have gone through every connector and fuse and don’t see any signs of corrosion but as an earlier post mentioned it’s a water intrusion issue, which is what happen. I took the cowl off and made a little plastic roof with standoffs over the cabin intake. If I have to I will buy a new cowl. It’s has an 1.5 inch gap all around the intake and over hangs 1.5” all around. I used an old seedling tray and some random nuts and bolts I found. The intake roof obviously won’t solve the busted audio and it’s a little janky, but hopefully will prevent further damage.

I also reached out to Grom to see if their CarPlay unit would bypass the cd/dvd/tuner and they told me it uses the usb but I’m pretty sure you need the tuner head unit working in order to install the grom system, but not totally clear on that. Also my memory seats stopped working.
