the time has come to get this set up. this will be the 5th anual and it's promising to be the biggest yet.
looks like the event will be held at deer valley in northern CA, just south of lake tahoe. great pl;ace to camp, fish and wheel. the trails are mild so everybody can enjoy taking their rig out for a spin. there are a few more difficult trails up there as well.
originally i was thinking about holding the event earlier than usual to avoid any possible fire restrictions, but i think we'll stay with the same schedule as always; my birthday! that means it's be labor day weekend, sept 2nd thru the 4th.
the elevation at the base camp, blue lakes, is roughly 7500 feet so bring some warm clothes just in case.
besides that, bring yourself, a cruiser, your camping gear and get ready to have a good time and a relaxing weekend. bringing your better half and kid(s) is more than welcome; this is a family event afterall.
there is no admission as usual, but raffle prizes will be much appreciated. i will be hitting up a lot of vendors to support the raffle as well to make sure that everybody walks away with at least one raffle prize. last year (just like the rest), most attendees won at least 2 prizes, some even three or more.
i will post more info as the event gets closer. if you have any questions, please ask. if you want to attend, please do so. it is not a requirement that you bring an fj45 to the event, but showing up in a cruiser is a definete plus.
see you guys up there!!!

PS: this year i'll actually be bringing a 45 again!:grinpimp:

not yet. hoping to do so later this month.

Might have to be there. Sounds like a blast hanging with a bunch of 45's. Hopefully my "Troopie" will be done.

That's only 2 months from now! I'd LOVE to make it, but would have to get a lot done to get either of my 45s ready for a trip like that.

Anybody from SoCal planning on heading up? Just wondering.

mark algezy, phil and gene normally make the trip. i'm sure you could caravan with them. as always, you guys are welcome to crash at my pad for a night or two...

Now that Georg has moved the date back, I 'might' be able to make it. I will just be getting home from a 9 day road trip to Wisconsin, Minn, Iowa, Neb, CO etc around the 21st.

Too much driving!

I am hoping to bring the "troopie". I may not be able to bring the 60 as it is on eBay right now. If it sells, not sure how the new owner would like it if I keep it and drive it to Cali. ;) I guess, I'll find out this week if it sells.
Problem is if I bring the troopie, it won't have a top. It would make it a VERY long drive. I have gone cross country in a 40 with no top on but I was 18. Things are a little different now.
I am really going to try to make it out there. Later.

i saw the ebay add and thought that was yours.

no top holding you back? i guess you're getting old, huh?!:flipoff2:

Top? I don't need no stinkin' top!

I am going to try like hell to be there. I will be in Billings, Montana the weekend before that. I think it might be around a 3K mile round trip if I come out there. Ahhhh, fawk it! IF the troopie is driving, I'll be there.

do it! but you'd better not back out!!!!!:bounce:

post a few on here and we'll see what people think. would that work for ya? i'm not the most artistic guy in town....

hey gary.
i sure hope you can make it to the 45 run one of these years. it'd be nice for the west coast guys to get a glimpse at your awesome 45!

the day i left the roundup i told myself "i'm definetly coming back next year". we had a great time and i will be there again for sure!
