Few months with mine, no issues. I do keep the normal bulbs in the glove box waiting for failure.
Me too. JUst wondering if and when I can take them out.

mine are perfect still, I run mine all the time. i to am caring the original bulbs, just in case.

My driver side headlight has a small amount of sift in it, that's why it always looks slightly dimmer. If any body noticed...

Nick, I noticed (for a while now) that I have a similar "sift" in my driver's side headlight too.

You can't quite see it in the pic but in person, the cut off in the driver's side isn't as sharp as the passenger's. In other words, the driver's side headlight isn't as focused as the passenger's. Is this how you would describe your sift?

So, I read thru this thread a few weeks ago and thought to myself "I'm going to have to get one of those"...

Never did.

Today, the DS headlight bulb went out. Now I HAVE to get some... :D

So, what's better, the DDM kit or the Apexcone? I'm looking at doing a 55W kit for the Low Beams, a 55W kit for the Hella 2000's, and a 35W kit for the OEM fogs. I'll go ahead and do the relay w/ harness on them to make sure they don't pull too many amps at initial fire.

Any other tips/tricks?

I am also interested in doing this mod soon. I would be very interested in how the units have held up since the initial installs. Good, bad, swapped back?

cutoff is exactly the same, it's just the driverside is dimmer due to dirt inside.

OK, so it hasn't been a whole month, but, hey, you never know. They could have all failed by now. Just checking. ;)
A little over 2 years is the longest I've had aftermarket HIDs last for me.

I don't know how long they normally last, maybe the warranty is an indicator, or in the case of lifetime warranties they're almost nothing to manufacture. Especially now since they've become a WHOLE LOT cheaper - my first kit was about $275! Not even name brand.

I installed my kit in April. Just last night I happened to be in front of my LC and noticed that my DS light is much dimmer than my passenger side. I haven't had time to check the connections or trouble shoot anything else.

Has anyone else had any problems with the output being noticeably different? The DS looks like a regular halogen bulb while the PS looks like a HID bulb with respect to the color output.

I installed my kit in Feb of this year an they have worked flawlessly (except sometimes when i crank up the truck the passenger side HID doesnt come on, I have to flip them off of auto and back on then its on). otherwise no problems.

both mine are getting a slight hue or purple. Seems to be getting more purple-ish but it doesn't bother me.

other than the slight color change they are working great and I have no regrets or complaints about going HID

So I am seeing this right... the DDM slim ballast kit for 55w and a relay is only $60?

wow that's cheaper than HIR's. I'm going to have to make that happen.

I put 55W 4500K in mine and LOVE them. Light output is amazing.
