I have a black 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser with off-road tires, I have a budget of a few thousand dollars, what would be the best modifications to make the truck ready for overlanding? I have no past experience with this and am looking for the best and easiest options.

Maintenance.

Give me any 100 series and I'll find an easy $1000+ in needed parts/repairs.

The 100 is very capable perfectly stock. But a broken vehicle sucks... Even with some fancy mods.

If you're sure the rig is perfect, sliders should be item number 1 on the mod list, IMO.

It's a comfy couch to ride in all day. What about investing in making your evenings more comfortable?
People here don't talk about camp upgrades to make sleeping, cooking etc better when overlanding.

What do you sleep in/on?
