Great video and thread. I removed mine very quickly last weekend with a cordless impact driver. Super easy and fast.

I know this is old thread and not sure if anyone is still keeping an eye on it, but I’m doing the delete tomorrow.

I’ve heard that putting the bolts back in the holes and putting some grease on the bolts will help keep the dust from getting in. Any truth to that? Any recommendations?

That’s absolutely true....

Yes, putting the bolts back in the holes prevents dust and dirt intrusion. I’ve done the same on two 200 series and it works great.

Did you put grease on the threads below the head of the bolt before you put them back in?

I did not. I don’t see any harm in doing so.
I did not put any grease on my bolts as they did have any to begin with. I do recommend reinstalling the bolts.

Don't forget to use some heavy duty duct table (Gorilla brand) and cover the holes that remain. IIRC there should be two holes that need taping per seat.

I added the grease. It didn’t seem it would hurt. And great minds think alike, the gorilla tape was a no brainer.

I may do this over the weekend. I need to do so, so I can get going on my ARB 12V outlet install for my fridge.

Do those small holes for the locator pins go through to the outside? I didn't think they did. I never covered mine and haven't experienced any dust intrusion. Also, it may be worthwhile to wipe around the bolt head to remove that extra grease before it gets smeared on other things. It can be messy!

I just did this myself and follow the directions in the video. Broke all of the covers. Maybe it was too cold.
That will do it. You can heat them up with a hair dryer to make them less likely to break. Takes a few extra minutes but the results are better.

Does anyone know of a trim piece (part number) to cover the exposed metal after seat removal? I haven't committed to getting drawers yet, and I want a finished look in the 3rd row similar to the 5 passenger HE. I have already ordered the 5 passenger Heritage mat to cover the floor.

I'm not aware of any. You'd have to order the HE interior trim panels to eliminate the holes in the plastic. Not to mention you may have to remove (cut out) the seat brackets to use the HE/international panels.

I had a feeling that was going to be the answer. I need a 3D printer to start making these things

Here's a pricey ready made product:

And here's a nice diy option.

Also, you'd have to cut the seat mounts off to get anything close to resembling the 2 Row versions, since the mount is welded to the top of the wheel well and protrudes outside of the cover panel opening.

Hi all,

I know this has been covered previously, but I figured I'll throw together a quick video talking about the third row removal. I figured this would be helpful for those who were having trouble removing the plastic covers for the seat brackets.

Here's a close up the rearward covers:

And don't forget to seal the holes left with some heavy duty tape or the like (photo shot right after removal prior to cleaning :D)

Does anybody know the part number for the larger hinge cover (right and left). I can read in the video the part number for the smaller trim but not the larger trim. Thank you

on an LC, looks like:

71485-60090-XX - RH Hinge #2 Cover
71486-60050-XX - LH Hinge #2 Cover

71639-60110-XX - LH Hinge Cover
71629-60380-XX - RH Hinge Cover

Where XX = your color
