Been there! I'm still annoyed though that we just have to accept it or keep changing charcoal canisters every few years......
i have been at high elevation before but at much cooler temps and it doesn't happen. But this time it was about 100F. It was alarming, I lost about half a tank in 20 miles. I eventually stopped in flat terrain and vented the gas cap manually but it was too late.
Just curious as to what octane you were using. I have read some research that this problem is exacerbated by fuels with a higher volatility blend. Seems that gas quality plays a factor. I've been fortunate as to not having this problem but I am heading into Colorado in a couple of weeks and will be spending quite a bit of time at 8000 feet and above elevation. I will see what happens. Last time I was there with my LC, I had no issues. Now, I have another 55,000 miles on the truck.
I use 87 almost exclusively but I figure i'll be in the heat and elevation, i'd treat the LC with 91 for this trip. I did use a non-tier 1 gas station as that's what was easily accessible in the more remote part of the trip. Hope you don't get any boiling on your upcoming trip.

Does it help with fuel boiling? Do you monitor your KCLV values regularly?
I cannot confirm if it helps the boiling or not yet only because I replaced the charcoal canister last fall after I boiled several times over the summer in Utah and Colorado. There are so many varying thoughts on what causes it, but for me I think I tried over filling the tank after the pump clicked too many times. I have since avoided that completely and have not seen a boil once this summer at elevation in Utah.
For the 100 series (I know apples and oranges) , using ethanol free gas, protecting the gas tank from the exhaust muffler/pipe and covering the gas return lines to protect from heat is usually enough to prevent the fuel from boiling over. YMMV.
Tried to keep every bit low profile, as it all adds up.

That's a lot of solar! What size battery are you running?
Yup. I just felt I had all that space and 100 or 200w kind of took up similar “room” considering height and bars and such… so go big.
Right now I just have my old yeti 1500x, it’s doing great, but upgrading that will be my next move. May customize something to better fit the drawer set up. E-taker f1000 alternator/solar controller should keep it topped up pretty well. We use induction for cooking, and the 12v blanket and fridge use it up quick too.

Long time lurker, first time poster... Finally got my hands on a 2008 JDM LC200 (with a 4.7L V8 (2UZ-FE) engine, cloth interior, no sunroof, no KDSS, just gen1 crawl control) with 51K kms! ~4 months after winning the auction, it finally got delivered at the Vancouver port... Couple of weeks ago it passed inspection and got registered!
Last week I was able to change the oil, and confirm all other fluids and levels were ok!... And we finally did the first longish drive over the weekend with the family... It was unreal!!
I've been dreaming with one of these Land Cruisers since 2008 when they were first imported to my home town, but back then I was broke and trying to move to Canada... Since then, it was a "dream car" kept in the back burner, with minivans and econo-cars taking precedent for years, but it's finally here!!!
So many plans for this thing... I'm going to remove the front and rear bumper extensions, just need a heat gun, some time and lots of patience...
Just confirmed that all 4 shocks are leaking oil, so a 2" Ironman4x4 Foam Cell Pro suspension and UCAs have been ordered!!
Next, 2 weeks after winning the auction, I was able to get a set of 17x8.5 Icon Vector 5s on clearance (in Matte Bronze!)... These have been living rent free in my head for as long as I've been waiting for the LC.
After installing the suspension, I'll mount these on a set of 285 KO3s; still unsure if 70/R17 or 75/R17... Have read a lot about both sizes, so I'm still debating pros and cons.
Anyway, I'm so happy to start this new chapter with this LC200 and continue reading and learning from all the relevant threads that are in these forums... \
