Great looking truck. Digging the dissent carrier. I just sent my brother the link last week for his gx but haven’t seen one in person.

What area of NC? Had a white 200 pass me earlier this week in Greensboro area with icons and a ladder but no carrier.

Then park in far empty corner of the resort parking lot for our EOY meetings and come back out today to find I had company.

LOL. I too park in BFE land. Too many people disrespect vehicles with door dings. I might have seen yours on West Market street and Guilford College across the intersection a few months back. I flickered my high beams at the 200.3.

That’s me in the 2008 but I mighta left some drool on that late model with Terra interior!

I’m just north of town but in Greensboro daily. Will have to keep an eye out for that hot combo you got there. Think I was in the taco but if you run sans carrier then I think I’ve I’ve spied you. There are a few around but the ladder stands out.

Picked up this 2013 from my oldest brother last weekend. He was the original owner. 84k miles, and it drives like a dream! Drove it from the Bay Area to LA at 80mph in comfort. I am beyond stoked about it, coming from a comparatively unrefined FZJ80 with 4" OME lift on 33s.

When I got it home I noticed there was fresh evidence of a rodent... little bits of chewed-up stuff coming out from under the front seats. I set some traps inside near the back seat and hoped for the best. Next day I smelled death, but no sign of the bugger and the traps were undisturbed. I opened up the cabin air filter hatch to find this... the recirc door had executed him!

I've already read all about this door being broken by techs, so was surprised to find it's strong enough to crush an animal to death.

Needless to say, I replaced the filter.

While you have to be careful to remove the windshield cowl, you can install a net over the HVAC intake located passenger side. When you are in there you may consider putting something to deflect any rain water leaking past the single cowl to windshield seal. There are threads on this in IH8MUD with examples of how to do (from YouTube videos).

While I have not taken the time yet to do myself and the rubber cowl to window seal on my 2021 is still in good shape (I put some seal lubricant product on it every now and then…), I have pushed two short pieces of water or AC line insulation material in the space between the hood hinge and the fenders filling up that open space a bit for rodents to get in there. I do not think though it fully closes off that space.

Wow. I do not think the door actually crushed it. It was probably trapped and could not get out dying from exhaustion maybe?

Man, my wife would have made me burn the car if she saw that. Of course she would never.

Cheers, thank you. One of my next tasks is to take the passenger inner fender liner off to investigate more, because I can see nesting material inside the fender cavity. I'll learn about the cowl cover and check out the HVAC intake too.

Oh, the door for sure crushed him! The spine was bent into a U shape and the body was completely flat in that area. The door was only open less than 1/4". He couldn't have been in there more than about 12 hours, because I had just been investigating the cabin filter area the day before.

The wife was oddly fine with it, but my daughter got upset and gave him a posthumous name and accused me of killing him. But it wasn't me - the Land Cruiser did it!

Even there the 200 was overbuilt. Can you imagine that in a 250Prado? The little fella would probably still be there playing with the flap and using it as front door to its nest.
