The Medano Road trail is a fun one and we camped nearby at the San Luis State Wildlife area which in 2023 was free and had electric hookups at the 100+ camp spots.

We were recently at Great Sand Dunes and this is what we were imagining. Instead, we were greeted by terrible wind which blew through the parking area with the tender caress of a sand blaster followed by lightning and rain. We shot some video of the dunes from the parking lot to capture the sand flying off the tops of the dunes, the background noise is people screaming and babies crying.

Very memorable.

We’re going back next year praying for sun.
Damn!!! We got lucky then. We had perfect weather. Hopefully next time you’ll have better weather.

It’s a beautiful trial. One of my favorite trials. Transition from forest mtns to sand dunes. I did the trail from the backend towards the sand dunes.

Was going to disperse camp but ended up at one of the campsites right by the dunes. Had to pay for the spot but worth it because you get the view of the dunes.

Are you still happy with these tires? I am about to buy a set today.
Not the person you quotes, but I have the new AT4's in 285/75/17's load range C . After about 6000 miles, I have no complaints at all. Great in the rain and definitely a noticeable ride improvement after the previous Wildpeak AT3 in 275/65/20's I had for about 70k miles.

Looks like you’ve been a busy guy. Best time to do some of the trails out here is right after it rains.
CO is amazing and when you’re on top of the mtns on the edge with rain, cloud, and fog it’s kind of nerve wrecking especially it’s the first time for the trail. At least that’s how my experience went.

Love co and try to come out there once a year.

Build v37.0 is ready to play in the dirt. "Finished" for now but we know it's never really done.

Big thanks to so many in the community that helped with info, part hookups, and support including @MTKID , @nwfl4runner , @turbo8 , @Artie , and others. The best part of the 200-series might just be this community.
