Curb crushin’ today. I’m loving how nice and quiet these 295 falkens roll. New tires + new accumulators brought back the magic carpet feeling I remember from when it was stock.

New guy, just picked this up yesterday. 2008 with 180k. The wife and I decided it was time to make a change from a Tacoma to something a bit bigger. Thanks to this place I've already found out that my heat exchanger cover plate is leaking... although I guess it's better I figure that out now rather than when it turns catastrophic. Parts are on order, hoping to have that addressed in the next couple weeks.

While driving from SLC back to NV we were racing sunset to get a picture out at Bonneville.

I assume that's a Ham antenna. Can you give more information on it?
That is the UNIDEN AT970BKS - AT970BKS - Uniden - https://uniden.com.au/product/at970bks/

UNIDEN does not sell that antenna in the US for whatever reason. I use it with a GMRS radio and it works great. I should mention that I also have a puck antenna on the Passenger Side as you might be able to see. I have both antennas tied to a splitter inside. The two have their strengths and weaknesses at different times based on the terrain.

today i just stood and stared at him, dreaming of the day the Gobi rack comes. tomorrow will be 21 weeks since ordering. boo hoo poor me and my 1st world problems.

It was a solid 14 to 16 weeks wait three years ago, so I can't imagine how much they will milk the covid blah blah blah excuse. My .02 is that it is worth the wait. Mine has sat completely neglected in the hot Florida sun 24/7 for the last 3 years and still looks good, save one or two spots I need to touch up.

That's helpful, thank you. And yes, "everyone" has said worth the wait, "you'll love it." I can't wait to love. lol. Gobi said end of March, so that will be what, 24 weeks? Wowza. Post a pic of yours.

Thanks. I've had OK reception with a smaller mag mount antenna which is great for "hiding" when not in use but have been looking at various permanent or semi permanent alternatives for better reception the further out I travel.

Are you using CB, GMRS, Network Radio or HAM?
Using a Baofeng F8HP Handheld HAM for main radio with a handheld GMRS/FRS for times when group is not using HAM. Running a small Nagoya UT72 19 Inch coil with magnetic base to HAM.

I run a number of different radios including a BaoFeng, but I have found the MXT400 from Midland to be one of my favorites. It's not very expensive and with 40 watts and compatibility on the FRS/GRMS walkie talkies, it works out very well. On top of that, when utilizing the GMRS Repeater Network, you can speak with people across the country.
