Thought you had finished the 80/20 roof rack mod?

I did. But then Eric S. gave me a set of LC rails. I didn't realize they are wider than LX so the 80/20 rails no longer fit. I'll be re-ordering 80/20 rails and working on a completely new setup with milled brackets. Stay tuned.

Decided to get out of the house for a few hours this afternoon and head north too see some the last remaining tall grass prairie in the US. I assume this is what most people imagine they think Oklahoma. Was actually pretty fun bombing down these county roads...and I hit my first 100K! The girls enjoyed seeing the Tallgrass prairie preserve too.

Nice truck!! I have the same LX. It looks you did a chrome delete. I have been thinking about it. Can you post more pictures please.
Thx

Thanks - I'll start a build thread at some point. Chrome delete is a combo of wrap (trim) and plati derp (emblems).

Porsche 911 (991) Turbo S and underneath it is our Lexus GSF. Getting my JDM 74 Celica GT back from restoration end of the summer...

Second pic is the old setup in our garage...

Picked up 4140lbs of flooring, using a trailer rated for ~1500lbs. Got 'er home in one piece!

First time towing that much weight. Could definitely feel it, but zero issues going through town or up the steep hill leading to my neighbourhood.

Please don't ever do this again and rent a proper trailer instead.

Looks like an adventure. Hope you got out without too much trouble.

A couple traction boards might have been really handy in that situation. Even if they were only the cheapy x-bull ebay ones. I carry a couple as insurance when I'm out for adventure.

Yeah, after a Jeep on 35s tried and couldn’t budge me I had a guy take me to get my 100 and popped it right out.
I’m so used to wheeling in my 100 I just went into that with too much confidence.
I should have my lockers in next month for the 200. That would have made the difference.

Moapa to Lake Mead today. No one for miles. I needed to cool the shocks off after 30 miles of high speed driving😆

Fun... :-/

Maxtrax might have been your friend there... even with high center bc as the tire pulls the track under and into the sand, it can raise you higher just a wee bit..

Worth a shot, as I had a similar situation in Borrego.

Yeah, I think recovery boards would have worked in this case.
A lot of things could have prevented me from getting stuck in the first place though.
I basically did everything wrong. 😀
  • I decided at the last minute to pull off on the way to town so I didn’t air down
  • I Didn’t carry any momentum because I was unsure about approach angle and didn’t want to rip bumper off
  • I chose the toughest (dumbest) line because....
  • I Crawled all over the obstacle with my triple locked 100 earlier in the week and it gave me too much confidence .
And to top it all off because I was just running to Lowe’s I left all of my recovery gear in my 100.
I definitely learned some things. So I’m gonna mark the day as a win
