200 series front Diff Drop

I have a guy in Houston that is putting this kit together for me (Thanks Ballsbygm)(great piece of at home engineering).

Two questions:
- Who is immediately interested, and
- How much is this kit worth to you?

I may be having the kit installed on mine this weekend.

Would this work on a USA LC? I sent a note to the seller to check myself. From a google search, seems to be two sides whether you really need a diff drop or not for a 2.5 to 3" lifted toyota truck.

Hi, yes we can ship to us. shipping cost will be $67.00 USD, as for fitting your US model were not 100% sure, there would a fair change that they are the same but you would need to do some research to double check.

I actually have a diff drop kit sitting in my shed, I bought it about 12 months ago when I raised the front suspension by 2 inches, but never got around to fitting it.

I am fitting adjustable UCA'S next month, finally had enough of my wheel alignment being on full adjustment, that every time I raise the front to take it off road, it goes a Volkswagen again

So when I fit them I'm going to fit the kit as well, I have kept an eye on my CV'S and they are both ok.

Anyone selling this as a kit still (looks like there might have been a group buy a while back)? Or any recommendations on a diff drop? I picked up this one but I wasn't looking at it too closely and it seems to be very incomplete

Just finished my diff drop. I know everyone says there is no need to do it. But my buddy the Lexus mechanic says it won’t hurt. And it was cheap. I went with dobinson diff drop off of amazon for $60.00. For anyone who does it and owns a older 200 ours doesn’t have the splash guard so you won’t be using one of the big spacers. You’ll only use two sat around for about a hr trying to figure out where it went. See below what the kit looks like on. Also to make the driver side drop you have to loosen the nut that’s underneath the frame to make it drop pic below. I also read that you have to take off the diff drop if you get armor. That’s way down the road for me so I’ll address later.

Hey @linuxgod, did you do a front diff drop? I am pulling the trigger on new gears and lockers and I’m now wondering if I should just go ahead and do a diff drop while I’m in there. I don’t really see any reason not to do it other than perhaps my heavy bud built skids. Not sure how my skids work with a diff drop.

I did one a while back after a torn CV boot. They’re probably unnecessary for a relatively mild lift, but towing a heavy trailer ultimately lifts my front more and then I run like that for thousands of highway miles.

The kit I bought off eBay was maybe $65. I just have factory skids though I can’t see a reason they wouldn’t work with all skids as they come with spacers and longer bolts to drop the skid plate. The biggest issue I can see with most skids is that if your aftermarket skid was distributing weight across a large area it may now be doing so over a smaller “hockey puck” spacer. (I say most because bud built or similar which adds a separate transfer case “arm” might require some on site rejiggering).

If you do it let me know, after that dammed rock on red cone I’m inclined to upgrade my skids. Or just put my tire on the right part of the rock next time
