Hi team,

I've searched and not been able to find any similar threads. The scenario is:
1995 1hz N/A, 625,000KM.
When cold, and under load there is a hesitation or slight splutter midway to higher through the revs in first and second gear. I've mainly only noticed it when cold. This has done it since I bought the car at 495,000km. I have done injectors and fuel filter (FF a number of times) since owning.
The only time it has ever done it when it is hot, is when the car had a large change in altitude (500m change). This makes me think air in the fuel system. Or the injector pump is on the way out.

I have tried to see if the injector pump has been replaced, but not really sure what signs to look for...!

Has anyone else experiences this? Any tips on ways to diagnose?

Search in the diesel tech section.

First suggestion would be air in the fuel lines. Check for this with a length of clear hose.

There's loads of threads on this in diesel tech
