Thought this might be a good way to find or sell parts within the local crowd. I'm looking for a 40 series disc brake front axle and some factory 1976+ steel wheels. I have one and want to avoid buying new simply because the wheels will be blasted any way and powder coated gray. (They come black...

Maybe I missed it, but what condition are the shocks and springs in?

Springs I would say are excellent.
Shocks... Not sure.. 160,000 miles. They don't look horrible but not perfect either.

100 series shocks are one of the few inexpensive components on the whole truck. Less than $30/corner iirc.

In case anyone is needing these...

As a result of the baseline inspection by @@RocketCityCrzrs , I originally planned to replace the front sway bar links with OEM... Later I decided to go with the Trail Tailor ones.
These were ordered from ToyotaPartsDeal.com and I can't return them because they were ordered more than 30 days ago.
They are still in the original un-opened package

I'm thinking about installing the roof rack next...
Down the road, I'll have lights attached to the rack.
I'm wondering if I should run some wires during rack installation to connect the lights to later...? Or is this just as easy to do later..?
Where do you guys run the wires thru/onto the roof?

Wheels are all painted.. Just giving them some time to cure before getting the tires mounted. I ordered 295/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

So the truck is up on jack stands while the wheel paint cures (instructions say 7 days)

Here is a look at how they're turning out so far..

I carefully removed the emblem so it would remain chrome and then glued it back in with epoxy

Like I said earlier... I sort of wish the color was a bit darker and less metallic but we'll see how it looks with the new tires...

I removed the OEM roof rack this evening and assessed the project. I'm going to call CBI with some questions before proceeding... The way the end of the OEM rubber strip is exposed doesn't quite seem right to me so I want to ask them about it. Installation looks pretty simple otherwise.

Tires next week. Then I can drive
I don't have an update yet on the Bora wheel spacers.

Probably move on to the bumpers after the roof rack..

been working on the rack in my spare minutes...
I actually finished it last night by headlamp after a power outage so I don't have completion pictures yet
below are some pictures and comments

after removing the OEM rack I realized that the rubber trim pieces do not extend all the way through the gap under the plastic covers. My concern was at the front where the windshield trim comes up and terminates I was wondering about the piece eventually getting loose and causing leakage. CBI assured me that there shouldn't be a problem with this.

One thing I wish CBI would do differently for their installation is design some kind of sealed attachment mechanism so that silicone would not be necessary. 1) I found the silicone to be kind of messy, and 2) if I ever want to remove the rack I will have to contend with globs of dried silicone.. Some removable rubber grommets or rubber washers would be great if they could 100% seal.
Other than that I was impressed with everything. Below is a pic of the spacer with silicone top and bottom ready to accept the side rail and bolt.

And here is something I discovered while prepping for the install... Unfortunately, I overlooked this during my pre-purchase inspection. A line in the paint.. I'm not sure exactly what this means but it's disappointing nonetheless

I'll be picking up my wheels and NEW TIRES this evening!
I'll post pics of the completed rack and everything at my next opportunity.
Any comments or pointers on any of the above are welcome!

The line in the paint, especially in that spots on the pillar is just an indication a panel was blended. They should've sanded and polished out the the tape mark, but looks like they were too lazy or forgot. I've sadly seen this dozens of times at my work on customers' cars over the years. In your case, they either painted the quarter panel and ended it at that line or possibly the A pillar was sprayed up to that line, hard to tell from your pic. Try some rubbing compound and polish, should make it better even if you don't have a buffer.

It's not the appearance of the paint that bothers me.. (very difficult to notice in that area) it's the fact that it indicates that the truck has had body repairs and I have no idea how minor or major the damage was..

I know you said you wished the wheel color was darker but man you have to agree that color is spot on!

Great choice in tires - size looks very proportional. Is that without the bora spacers?

Truck looks amazing as is and you could stop there.... but I know you’re about to take it to the next level.

I agree that it looks real good like this and I have to admit that I've already had 2nd thoughts about the bumpers etc... I plan to keep going however. It's so much fun..

I daily drive one with a similar build and personally I love it.

You may consider driving it a few weeks without the bumpers to enjoy the middle stage build.

Once you add the weight you’ll be grinning ear to ear. No looking back!

Got the Slee aux battery/ARB compressor tray installed.. Slick and easy. Good stuff.

The whole dual battery/electrical accessories project is a bit over my head... I'm looking forward to learning this part but it's a bit confusing at the moment.
To start with, I plan to get the following items..

• Wire (what grade/size?)
• Loom
• Relays (any particulars?)
• Blue Sea fuse panel (details?)
• Dual Battery controller
• Switches
• Connectors (which style is best?)

I think once I understand the items needed, it'll all start making sense. @REZARF sent me a good video about relays (thanks!) so I got a decent handle on that.
