SOLD

After thinking long and hard about this I have decided to sell the 1HDTFT motor that I have bought for my next 7X project,I bought it last year and was hoping to be driving it around by now but the hard truth is that it looks like I won't get to that stage any time soon.

I bought this engine in Europe where it was mounted in an old 80 series by a company that has a solid reputation on modifying all Toyota diesel engines. This was original a 100 series 1HDFTE and they converted it to a FT and installed one of their aftermarket mild performance Turbo kit on it and modified the IP.I test drove that 80 and was surprised about the amount of usable power it made with a smooth curve,no smoke ,no rattles or any other unpleasantries that are normally associated with HP upgrades. It did have an IC setup at the time but I did not buy that.

This engine has around 130 k miles, beb's replaced, new turbo and they resealed it .

These are pretty rare to find anywhere and one like this is even harder.

I want back what I have payed for it and what I felt was a fair price 8000$

I have a 1HZ H55 trans and belhousing that I could sell the new owner and one of my friends has a H150 for sale if you prefer the longer style.

Anyway this tread is useless without pics right ;)

this would be sweet, do you have any of the wiring out of the 80 series?

No because that 80 is still in use today to test engines in, there is really no wiring necessary, hook up the alternator, oil press and your temp gauge plus the fuel solenoid and you are good to go.

This is a good deal, someone needs to scoop this up before he changes his mind. Not only are they hard to come by, they are super hard to come by in the US, importing one goes through similar process as vehicles, which can be risky and expensive all in itself.

Wishing I had another project to put this in....I wonder if the wife would consider swapping this in her highlander?????

Just a little nudge was all you needed.

You will HAVE to start a build thread on this one. It’ll be epic.

Sh*t! Just seeing this. @joekatana, wish you would have let me know you were putting this in the classifieds. Congrats @jmlockwood

Any Diesel engine that has half of the alphabet after the number 1 has to be good. :)
Look forward to seeing it in person.

Well you knew it was for sale, can't blame me on this one ;)
No blame being assigned here, sir. But my hand may have been forced to buy had I known it was going to be put in the classifieds in front of this group of diesel vultures. At least you’ve now got more to spend on your next trip:cheers:

I would have lost sleep last night if I didn't buy this thing.
I’ve been losing sleep over the project I had in mind for this engine and the engine itself since I learned of it. Safe to assume you’ll be dropping this in the troopy? Sweet rig keeps getting better!
